except, 2 nd drawing with has very slight light rubbed surface
on upper area. It is hard to recognized.

In The Life and Works of Haku Maki I refer fairly briefly to his Big Reds and other large prints of the late 1960s and early 1970s. By noted South African artist, Otto Klar (born in Austria, 1908-1994), this drawing depicts a group of huts, some figures, and hills in the background. In a simple wood frame, it measures 10 3/4" by 12 5/8" (sight size 6" by 8"), and is inscribed on the back, "Christmas South Africa, 1977, Gift from Otto Klar, Dec 2nd". In pencil, on buff colored paper, frame and double matting are clearly original, and the drawing appears to be in excellent condition...

A pleasing, good-sized oil on canvas rural, early spring landscape of Scandinavia, perhaps Denmark, or Sweden, signed at lower right by artist "Scharberg". The poetic scene includes one small structure at left; white and pink blossoms are starting to appear on the trees..
