This unusual shape gold hair (acicular) crystal snuff bottle is 2 ¾ inches tall, 1 inch wide (on the widest part) and 5/8 of an inch thick. The artist¡¯s name is TIAN CHANG. It depicts a school of goldfish swimming in a pond filled with water plants and an unknown plant above them. The artist TIAN CHANG did a wonderful job by painting nine goldfish in a tiny space. The crystal has some natural flaws and does not contain a lot gold hairs...

In excellent condition and still in its original frame. 23" by 19" in its frame, 14" by 10" painting alone. Max Band is a well-known School of Paris artist. He studied in Berlin in the early twenties before moving to Paris. His first solo exhibition was in his homeland at the National Theatre in Kaunas in 1925. The painting's subject is a pink-walled home at left with two palm trees growing in the yard, a view to the water at right center. The painting is laid down on a board, and the gold overmat is glued down on top of it, so, were there a signature/date, it is hidden by the mat...

Oil on board, 13" by 17", unsigned, the subject a group of European-looking (French, I'd guess) buildings that appear as if they would belong in a country winery scene, with an early spring impressionistic landscape surrounding them. The conical tops remind me of structures I have seen in California wine country, or, in French chateau country. This one is difficult to describe adequately...

One could call this work a homage to Jackson Pollock and Sam Francis: colorful drips in red, blue, yellow and gray, on an inky black background, 20 1/4" by 24 1/2" as simply framed in silvery metal behind Plexiglas. There is no signature. A fine choice if you are looking for original abstract art for your mid century or modern interior.
