Believing that the work could possibly be an authentic work by Schulz, I have researched the drawing through the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California...

A PAIR of Mid Century drawings, consisting of concentric line patterns and overlapping forms, typical of the imagery, whether in sculpture, drawing/painting or graphics, of acclaimed Spanish modern artist AMADEO GABINO (1922-2004). Each is drawn in brown ink and measures 12 3/4" by 15 1/2" (13 3/4" by 17" in black shadowbox type framing over an inch deep). Some of the darker lines are interestingly also scored into the paper, like deep cuts...

More than 10 detailed, fine pen and ink drawings, on one sheet measuring 19 3/4" by 16", most featuring male figures, signed at upper left center "Al Wiles". Wiles was active in the Seattle area at mid century. The style of the drawing takes from Jose Luis Cuevas, a little bit of Surrealism in spots from Salvador Dali, and Eugene Berman. The pen work is impressive up close...

By the well regarded Belgian artist JACQUES HOTE (1939-1986), this is a highly worked, detailed ink drawing on Japan tissue-type paper, measuring 8 1/2" by 11 1/4" (13 1/2" by 15 1/2" simply framed, no glass). The work is signed at lower right and dated there March 22,1969. The figures, caricatures, really, are quite strange, many with exaggerated Gallic noses; the subject/message of the drawing is not clear to me, but it likely lies in the realm of politics and satire and social commentary...

The Biblical subject seems to be Abraham about to slay Isaac (note the weapon in Abraham's hands, about to swing into the victim). The artist is WILLIAM LYBERIS (1931-), born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and known for landscape, impressionist technique, interiors, and non-objective art. Lyberis spent a lot of time in Paris, absorbing the art resources there...

A modernist line drawing of a man in thin marker or ink, unsigned, the artist unknown, detail of the face especially indicative of the skill of the artist. The work probably dates to about 1970. Size 7 1/2" by 4" inside the mat, and 10 1/4" by 6 3/4" in silvery wood frame. Condition is excellent. Word "Al" written in pencil on reverse side. There are reflections in the images.
