Beautifully beautifully framed Watercolor measuring 10“ x 9 1/2“, frame size 16 x 15“ Circa 1920

John Bernard Whittaker,1836-1926.A young Barefoot boy titled “Drummer Boy” oil on canvas dated 1862 in its original gold frame. Measuring 17x14”

A nicely worked watercolor of a church dominating over its obviously European village, 15 1/2" by 18 3/4" (21 1/2" by 25" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "W Kuns" or "Whuns" or similar. The watercolor is clean, with some browning at the very edges from long contact with the mat. Probably executed circa the 1960's, possibly, in the Baltic states (possibly, Latvian) or another part of eastern Europe.

Etching titled "THE GREEN SHUTTER NEW ORLEANS", signed with initials in the plate and in pencil by the artist in margin, the sheet 9 7/8" by 7 3/4", framed as found in narrow black strip frame of the period. Buell was a noted woman etcher, active from the 1920's through the late 1950's. Born in Illinois, she received some art training at Oberlin College in Ohio, and further study at the Art Students League in New York and with famed etcher Martin Lewis...

An Italian Art Glass Goblet Sculpture Mid-Century Multicolor measuring 8.25” Berlin Estate

A colorful oil on canvas of two women and a donkey or horse in a tropical village setting of Haiti, probably executed circa 1960's or 1970's. The little work, 10" by 8", unframed, is signed at bottom center "Mme Brunise", for "Madame Brunise". The "Madame" is interesting as I have not seen that before on a Haitian work...

William Walcot 1874-1943 British This is a fine drypoint etching by British artist William Walcot. This image of the Brooklyn Bridge was done in his series of 5 etchings of New York City published in 1923 as a portfolio. This etching is hand signed in pencil in the lower border. The image measures 8 1/4X9 3/4 inches. Nicely Framed with archival materials.

Bio: Ernesto Alcántara (1933 - 2019) created a vast body of work along many themes: volcanoes, the Sierra Gorda, seascapes, landscapes, nudes, still life works, travel sketches, political satire, fairy tales drawn for his daughter, characters, with Sor Juana, Don Quixote, and Rembrandt being predominant.   His techniques include oil on linen, prepared by him in his studio with rabbit glue, linseed oil, and tempera; engravings on copper or zinc using burin, dry point, etching, or soft ground;...

Old vintage pastel on paper drawing of a New England landscape in the fall, including a white 19th century house and a lone figure, 12" by 9" (15 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed), no glass, signed very faintly at lower right corner as (I believe) "F. Will" (or, T. Will, or T. or F. Wills). I do not think the artist is the listed Frank-Will. This particular scene seems to be after a well known original by a noted American artist...

Samuel John Peploe, Britain, Edinburgh 1871-1935. This large impressive dreamy impressionist painting is oil on canvas, signed lower right and on stretcher bar. It is 24 2/16"H by 36 3/16" W in a newer impressionist style frame 37 3/4"H by 49 5/8"W. It has been lined with some scattered inpainting. Peploe studied at the College of Art in Edinburgh and the Academie Julian under Bouguereau and a member of the Scottish Royal Academy...

This appears to be a print, with original hand coloring more than likely by the artist, the title "Good things come in small packages, big packages, or whatever shape a friend is in.", signed at lower right in the plate, by noted California contemporary artist SALLY HUSS (1940-). The work, 9 1/2" by 11 1/2" in robin's egg blue painted wood frame, is typical of the artist's output----always colorful in the extreme, and whimsical, the subjects landscape, florals, or fantasy...

Original watercolor by Nechemia Stencel (Israel, 1904-1991). This mid-century work depicts the old Jaffa clocktower built during the Ottoman period. Signed "N. Stencel" and also in Hebrew l.r. 23" by 29" in its frame. In excellent condition.

Watercolor on heavy pebbled watercolor, 10 1/4" by 13 3/4" (17 1/2" by 20 1/2" in simple, worn frame), unsigned, the subject an impressive sailing craft in a small boat harbor. The painting has a nice impressionist touch, and, apparently, some age (at least 1960's or before). On the reverse someone did some math calculations, writing the numbers in a distinctive old hand that is of a previous generation. The clean mat with gold inner edging can be retained; a new frame would work wonders.

A wonderfully done naïve portrait of an older woman identified on the reverse as Almira Coolidge of Boston. The 3/4 length depiction shows the sitter holding a handkerchief and wearing a lace trimmed white bonnet, white lace fichu, and a red scarf over a black puff-sleeve dress with gold buttons. The background is nicely done in a striated and shaded blue-gray...

Manuel Robbe French This is an original color aquatint etching by French artist Manuel Robbe. The title is: Femme A L'Estampe, Woman with Print. It was created and printed circa 1906 in an edition of 100. The image measures 21X14 7/8 inches. It is editioned lower left and signed in crayon lower right. A beautiful French style gilt frame. John Edward Costigan, American, 1888-1972, Etching, "Mother and Child", 1957, ed. 4/25, image size: 16 15/16 x 13 3/4 inches, pencil signed

This unusual and inventive designed leaf shape snuff bottle is 3 inches tall 2 ½ inches wide and less than 1 inch thick. The color is from beige to burgundy and very well polished and hollowed. It depicts three squirrels chasing each other under grapevine. The workmanship is excellent. The artist Chen Ke uses the natural color of the stone so well, it looks like inlay or overlay work. Found locally in Los Angeles, this is a large oil on canvas still life of orange and yellow garden nasturtiums in a blue and white old ceramic vessel, a ladies' fan and blue beads resting at its base, the colorful subjects placed elegantly in the neutral space of a cloth covered table and gray-white background, the work signed at lower right by the noted Spanish artist VICENTE SANTAOLARIA (1886-1967)...

THREE unframed paintings on canvas, including a landscape viewed through a window (24" by 36"), a female figure on a balcony (36" by 24"), and a woman reclining on a bed (40" by 30"), one of the works signed at lower right by California-Japanese artist YURI MASON (1920-2000). As only one of the works is signed (and dated 1988), I would like to keep them together, as they were acquired together. There is little information on the artist, who painted in the San Francisco Bay area...

John Austin Sands Monks, American, 1850-1917, "Herd Returning Home". This is an atmospheric original etching of a herd of sheep by American artist John Austin Sands Monks. Image size 11 x 16 1/2 inches, c. 1880s, shepherd's crook remarque in the lower right corner, pencil signed. A rich impression with beautiful plate tone and ample margins on Japan paper.

This dated 1848 portrait is believed to be of David Schofield Painter, who was William Bell Scott's brother-in-law. The condition of this oil on canvas is not good. A great deal of this painting has been reworked!!
