A very interesting etching of what appears to be Paris' Montmartre section, (the windmill a famous feature, painted by many artists), signed in pencil in the lower right margin "B. Vilard". Surprisingly I do not see a listing for an artist by this name---could possibly be a pen name.. The work measures 8 1/2" by 11" inside the mat and 13 3/4" by 16 1/4" framed. It is very clean and fresh, despite likely dating to the first half of the 20th century. Note the subtle blue/brown colors.

This translates roughly as "the flowers of home/homeland greet you". "Heimat" evidently is a German word with no clear translation into English...

Oil on canvas laid against board painting of historic ancient structures apparently on a coastline, 11 1/2" by 9" (19" by 16" framed), signed at lower left in Hebrew script. There is a second painting on the reverse signed "Hausner" and dated 1979. A reader of Hebrew has confirmed that the signature in that language also reads "Hausner". The scene of buildings is almost expressionistic as opposed to impressionistic. There is a brooding darkness to the sky and a vigor to the brushstrokes...

This is an original hand-colored, mid 19th century lithograph print by the iconic American ornithologist and naturalist artist JOHN J. AUDUBON, from the nineteenth century (circa 1849) quadrupeds mammals series in the small octavo size. It is not a late restrike/reprint.
