I have purchased this painting in 1991...

Oil on canvas, 24" by 36" (33" by 45" as framed), signed at lower left "Cantrell". This is a good sized oil of a peaceful scene with tree and a house against the setting sun. I date the work to the 1970's or 1980's. Condition good with some light craquelure and very slight dimpling, but no holes. The frame upper left corner is separating just a little bit.

A fine example of art from Canada's far north, a mixed media drawing (17 1/2" by 24 1/2", 23 1/4" by 30 1/4" framed), signed at lower right and dated there 1986 by noted Inuit artist PETER RAGEE (1955-). A native man seems to be pulling on a reindeer, stylized land (ice pack?) below. The medium appears to be some kind of crayon, with some salmon rose ink outlines. Condition is excellent save for some slight rippling of the paper at top...

Oil on canvas, 16" by 20", unframed, signed at lower right in red "SOON" and with artist's device, signed there "86", the subject a thatched roof village fronting low mountains, clothes hanging to dry in the breeze. This appear to be most likely Korean art, perhaps by a Korean-American, considering the American size stretcher. The name is common in Korea but I don't believe the artist is well known. Haku Maki did many prints some with interesting backgrounds some not. This modest run of rather large pints had a special black background: it is the texture of old leather. . Maki created and used this technique only in 1981 prints and mainly in persimmons. The persimmons are plump and meaty the green leaves of the fruit are nicely proportioned.
