A late 20th century oil on canvas still life of fruits and flowers on a table top, unsigned, but with a word, possibly Russian, written on the stretcher. The work measures 18" by 26" (20 1/2" by 29" in white framing). I note a few flaws: a very small puncture at bottom center, mostly repaired, from reverse side; and two parallel vertical marks at left, and a very small not-quite-tear at left. All this sounds far worse than it is...

Ackermann Jr. of Regent Street, London. The plates are from a series, though this is not a complete series; the group includes Plate 1, Plate 5, Plate 6, and Plate 7. They all measure 14" by 17 1/4" inside the framing (18 1/2" by 21 1/2" framed)...
Carl Moll, Austrian,1861-1945. This stunning landscape is a study in impressionist color and light and dark. It is an oil on canvas, signed lower right. It is 15 5/8" by 19 5/8" in a handsome newer gold frame with overall dimensions of 26 5/8" by 29 5/8". Moll is a master of light and dark and the use of impressionist brushstrokes to convey the impact of the intensity of color at dusk. He is listed in Benezit and sells for up to $304,000.

An American circa late 1960's to about 1970 still life painting in oil on rough side of the Masonite, 18" by 14" (24" by 19 1/2" framed), signed at lower left possibly "Pardoe". The red poppies are beautifully rendered and the richness of the red contrasts with the deep blue of the vase. Condition is excellent. A very decorative painting, in a frame of the period.
