By the famous and prolific English 19th century dog artist EDWARD ARMFIELD (1817-1896), this is a classic painting of no less than three terriers chasing a rodent down a hole, and, apparently, finally cornering him there. The work, signed at lower left, is titled on the reverse overlap in the hand of the artist (also signed again nearby by the artist on the overlap) "Caught At Last" (great title!!).
