Original impressionist oil on panel by Paul Hagemans. He was born in Antwerp in 1884, the son of the celebrated landscape painter Maurice Hagemans. He received early artistic instruction from his father but at the age of fifteen enrolled at the Academy of Antwerp. Oil on wood panel still life painting of ceramic vessels, plate, kettle, and candlestick, all arranged on a tabletop, apparently unsigned, but on the reverse of the panel is a "Royal Exhibition" 1930 label, and there is a James Bourlet shipping label as well. The work measures 20" by 24" (27 1/2" by 31 1/2" framed). This beautifully impressionistic work is likely by a listed artist but I am stymied by the lack of a signature...

Charming small round painting in the original gold wood frame, 9 1/2" diameter as framed, the subject given on the reverse of the board in the artist's own handwriting: "Heilige Nacht in Villingen" ("Holy Night in Villingen"), also, "N. gem. v. Albert Sager" ("painted/executed by Albert Sager") signed there including the artist's most unusual monogram which includes the date of execution, 1922. That monogram is also incised carefully in the wet paint on the front side at right...

Louis C. Rosenberg 1890-1983 American This is an original etching and drypoint by American artist Louis Rosenberg. The title is: The Grand Canal, Venice, it is printed on a medium weight laid type paper. This etching was created and printed in 1927. The image measures 8 7/8X13 7/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower right border, very fine condition, nice use of plate tone in the sky and water. A very rare image, Rosenberg at his best!!!...

This etching was created and printed in 1926 in an edition of 200, published by G. Petit, Paris. The image appears in the Novak catalog as image number N.123. The image measures 13 3/4X16 3/4 inches. Fine watercolor on paper drawing of a dirt road or track in a country landscape, signed at lower left by the listed American artist NEIL REID MITCHILL (sometimes misspelled as "Mitchell") 1858-1934. Mitchill was born in New York and was painting in nearby Connecticut by the 1890's, where he is credited with being the first resident artist of Westport (which went on to become a 20th century art colony of sorts)...

In some ways the Albert Bierstadt of Europe, Frederick Kammeyer ( 1873 - 1941 ) painted grand lavish landscapes of Europe's beautiful mountain scenes. The oil on linen offered here renders a rapid stream coursing through a wooded valley against the backdrop of majestic imposing mountains in the background but never out of view. A beautiful, accomplished watercolor landscape painting of a gully with running water, 10 1/2" by 14 1/2" (19" by 22 1/2" in early 20th century gold frame), signed at lower left by the noted California art pioneer WILLIAM LEES JUDSON (1842-1928). Hermine David 1886-1970 French This is a fine original oil on canvas by French artist Hermine David 1886-1970. The subject is a group of strollers in Luxembourg Gardens, Paris. This painting done circa 1930 is signed lower right and measures 18 1/8X15 inches. Housed in a custom French style frame. Hermine was one of the Ecole de Paris artists. In 1918 she married Jules Pascin. Their association seems to have been an influence on the artwork of both artists.

Clara Colline 1881-1945 Kansas Artist, American This is a fine block print by Kansas artist Clara Colline (1881-1945) The title written in pencil lower left is: Wind in the Cottonwoods. THis image done circa 1920 is hand signed in pencil and has an image size of: 9X11 3/4 inches. Colline was a student of Birger Sandzen. His influence is clearly seen here.
