The image on the left was done in 1970 the other in 1971. The image at the left looks like 2 or 3 quick brush strokes. It is very delicate. It can mean clothing. The image at the right is heavy, many brush strokes, a complicated kanji. It can mean depression. It is Poem 71-14.

Contemporary Snowscape by American artist Hamblen oil18x24” beautiful work very realistic

This is a hand painted original work, the subject a newly married couple, he in Edwardian (??) formal coat and medals and monocle, she in traditional white with a corsage. The image was either intentionally cut out by the artist and pasted onto a board which was in turn pasted onto a light green silky surface, or someone has subsequently decided on this presentation. Currently the figures therefore stand out in something of a three dimensional manner from the background...

This is a nicely executed work in watercolor and gouache, depicting an Italianate landscape with majestic central tree, colorful wildflowers at left, and a distant view to the right, signed at extreme right corner "F. Pratesi". I do not see a listing for such a name, (that is, if I am reading it correctly). All photos are taken through the nasty old non-glare type glass, so actual sharpness of the image is even better than shown...

HE HAS EXHIBITED AT ALL MAJOR EXHIBITIONS IN ENGLAND AND ALSO IN PARIS AND NEW YORK. HE IS WELL KNOWN FOR HIS DRAWINGS AND OIL PAINTINGS OF MILITARY SUBJECTS.

Oil on canvas laid against wood panel painting of a young woman in traditional type clothing of Southeast Asia, likely the Philippines or Indonesia. The sizable work measures 37" by 24" (43 1/2" by 30 1/2" in wood frame). At lower right, in red, there does appear to be a signature but I am not certain as to how it reads; possibly "HA.....". The canvas is a little buckled especially at left, as it is laid against the panel and not firmly glued to it...

Original lithograph print, sheet 14 7/8" by 11", simply framed (removed from frame for photography), unsigned, titled "Diego" (the brother of Alberto), circa 1961. The backing board bears an early 1960's label from the east coast store "Korvette art gallery", on which is written the artist name, title, medium, and the notation "from Behind The Mirror" Maeght Paris. Claude Grosperrin (1939-1977) was a French Impressionist who painted during the middle of the 20th century. His interest in lithography began during his studies at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in the atelier of Brianchon. There he developed a love of the process, and soon his work caught on in local galleries. After some one-man exhibits in London and New York, Grosperrin received international attention...

Pencil signed at lower right and bearing "Artist's Proof" at lower left is this etching, 10 3/4" by 8 1/2" inside the mat, 18 3/4" by 15 3/4" as framed, by the noted late American artist JACK LEVINE (1915-2010). Levine, deceased in 2010 at the age of 95, will be remembered as an artist who bucked the modernism trends to pursue his own trail in social satire, caricature, and "Hebraism". He was born in Boston and was exposed to the grittier aspects of street life...

A vintage watercolor painting, circa 1965 perhaps, featuring a northern New Mexico church, perhaps the famous one at Ranchos de Taos, although it also vaguely resembles the iconic sanctuary at Chimayo. Or, perhaps it is intentionally a composite of many of the wonderful old churches of northern New Mexico. This piece measures 20" by 24" inside the mat and 30" by 34" as nicely framed in blanched wood. An internet search has not revealed an artist that might be matched to this work...

This unusual modern painting is by the noted Israeli surrealism artist DAN KEDAR (1929-2008). Kedar's works sell at auction in Israel...
