Beautiful watercolor by Bermuda artist Birdsey measuring 12x18”,frame size 19x25 inch Alfred Birdsey (1912-1996) was perhaps the most notable Bermudan artist of the 20th Century. Born in England, he became Bermuda's first modernist painter, and redefined the islands with his abstract oils and watercolors. He was known for his landscapes of Hamilton, St. Georges and the surrounding sailboats, homes, and bays of Bermuda. He also did mural work in Boston, New York and Bermuda...

Contemporary watercolor of the famous Pirates Alley in the French Quarter of New Orleans, 10 1/2" by 6 1/2" (18" by 14" in newer framing), signed at lower right. The work is beautifully painted by a talented hand that I cannot identify. Condition is excellent. There is a little bit of loss in the frame at upper left corner and lower center, showing as red areas. Some gold paint would cover these. See many other works of New Orleans in my shop.
