Oil on canvas painting of surf breaking on coastal rocks, 24" by 30" (29" by 35 1/2" framed), signed at lower right by the noted California painter GEORGE SANDERS BICKERSTAFF (1893-1954). Bickerstaff is a familiar name in California plein air art. He was a prolific artist, creating both landscapes of desert and eucalyptus and lupine, as well as seascape. This example probably dates to the late 1940's or early 1950's. It is in very good condition with only a pinpoint loss or two.

Oil on canvasboard panel painting of a scene in the French Quarter of New Orleans, 19" by 8" (24 1/4" by 12 1/2" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "Dettick" or "Derrick". This work was likely created for the lively tourist scene in the French Quarter in the 1960's or early 1970's.
