Felix Francois Georges Philibert Ziem, French, 1821-1911. This oil on wood panel, signed lower left,is a high quality and exquisitely painted example of Ziem's Venice scenes. It is 8.5" h by 6.5 w in a simple frame with outer dimensions of 11" h by 8" w. This piece is from a private collection and housed in a simple frame.

A contemporary painting of the famous Lone Cypress clinging to the rocks along the Seventeen Mile Drive on the Monterey Peninsula, near Carmel on California's central coast. The oil on canvas, 12" by 16" (14" by 18 1/2" framed) is signed at lower left by artist Florence Antree. The work is clean. I note a small hairline abrasion/puncture in the branches at upper left, largely hidden by the composition. A little appropriately matched watercolor around it would hide the issue completely...

An ORIGINAL PAINTING on canvas, 20" by 38" (30" by 48" framed), the subject a panoramic view of a quaint coastal cliffside village complete with tidy white church and homes. Antique original lithograph of a standing nude by Julius John Pommer (American, 1895-1945). This wonderful nude dates from the thirties. It is dedicated l.l. and pencil signed l.r. Offered framed. Pommer was born in San Francisco and studied at the CSFA under Otis Oldfield. He was active in the Federal Arts Project in the thirties. Well listed (cf. In 1970 quite suddenly Haku Maki started producing truly large prints. They were dramatic and somewhat unexpected, all at least 24in x 24in and extended in size to 35in x 35in. His huge print of a woman is 36in x 72in. All of these were created in 1970. Then no Big ones until Big Mu done in 1973. Then no more huge ones. What happened to Maki? What happened to the supply of paper? This Poem 70-10 is pretty large--17.5in W x 24.5in H--but it was succeeded by others even larger.

An antique soft pencil drawing of a young woman, unsigned and unattributed, 9 3/4" by 7 1/2", likely dating to the very early 19th century at latest, and more likely, well into the 18th century. The drawing would probably be of French origin. The paper has been affixed long ago to a thin card. Condition is excellent. The number "17" in old hand appears at lower right corner. Simple strip frame is of inlaid wood and is attractive.

A mid century oil on canvas painting by the hand of a listed French artist who lived for 102 years, RAYMOND PERREAU (1874-1976). The work is handled in an impressionist manner but also possesses a mid century, contemporary air. It measures 32" by 16", 39" by 23" in black wood frame with liner, and the artist signed at lower right where he dated it 1961...

An extremely well painted miniature portrait of a very handsome young man. The sitter is dressed in the traditional black coat and cravat, white shirt with a high stiff collar, and a stickpin. The portrait, on natural organic wafer, is housed in a 14K or higher gold case with a glazed rear aperture showing a lock of hair. Condition of the miniature and case are excellent, with no issues at all. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 3/4", and the locket size is 2 1/4" by 1 7/8".

Originally conceived as part of a figural group for a larger commission, Charity depicts the doting love of a mother for her two children. Paul Dubois ( 1829 - 1905 ) originally exhibited it at the Salon of 1877. The famed Barbedienne foundry reproduced smaller versions for interior decoration. This particular version is 18", signed Paul Dubois, and stamped with the Foundry mark. Condition is very good with slight wear of patina to high points such as knee and nose...

A colorful set of African scenes. The medium appears to be oil on paper. Two are signed by Gallin, one is signed Bonnaie, another Hona (?)and the last Dzio(?). The frames show some wear and chipping and one picture is missing its glass but is protected by a plastic sheet.
