Watercolor painting of a flock of sheep in a landscape, the central figure in blue with his black sheep dog, signed at lower left in ink rather illegibly, and dated there 1900. The work measures 9 3/4" by 19" inside the mat and 17 1/2" by 26 3/4" in excellent condition modern gold frame and clean mat with inner fillet. I have tried my best to figure out the identity of the artist and cannot do so; the artist might be anything from Belgian or Dutch to German or Eastern European...

An impressionist still life of vase and flowers on a table top in an interior, 23 1/2" by 17 1/2" (29" by 22 3/4" framed), signed at lower right by artist HAIG ALTOUN and dated there 1940. The work is beautifully executed by a trained hand but strangely I do not see a listing for an artist by this name, which is of Armenian extraction. Condition is excellent.

Ten of Staves chromolithograph by Salvador Dali from the Lyle Stuart Tarot Cards series produced in the late 1970s. The print is signed in pencil on the bottom margin and numbered in a set of 250. An original vintage circa 1950 oil painting of a Colorado Rocky Mountain Landsape of Aspen trees titled "Flaming Autumn" in Estes Park. Oil on 24" x 30" panel signed lower left Stirling and titled on verso. Presented in a quality contemporary gallery frame overall size 30.5" x 36.5". David Stirling was born in 1887 in Corydon, Iowa to a pioneering family, and his father was a newspaper publisher. He died in Longmont, Colorado after a short illness in 1971 and was buried there in a family plot...

A scarce watercolor work of Southern art, the subject a street scene with traditional historic architecture including a church, two tiny figures and a tree, measuring inside the wood frame 9 3/4" by 7 3/4" (14 3/4" by 13" framed). The scene could be New Orleans or Charleston, South Carolina; I found the work in western Virginia. There is a signature at lower right but all attempts to read it have failed, though, it does appear that the date 1905 is at lower right...

An excellent oil on canvas example of the painting of Spanish artist EDUARDO PISANO (1912-1986), measuring 25" by 21" (31" by 27" in silvery attractive framing/liner). Subject is a clown or other generalized comic figure with a lute/stringed instrument. Pisano is considered a member of the "Spanish School of Paris", along with figures like Clave, Peinado, Emilio Grau Sala, Oscar Dominguez, Pedro Flores, Gines Parra and Manuel Ortiz de Zarata...

Watercolor on heavy watercolor paper, unsigned, the subject the sea coast, painted in an impressionist style by an American artist. The work was found in Laguna Beach, California but I cannot say that this is a Southern California work---although I wonder if this might well be Laguna's "Bird Rock", as I think I've seen other works depicting that feature, and the two birds above this might be symbolic. Unframed, the sheet measures 16" by 22"...

Robert Brackman (Born Odessa, Russia 1898; Died Roank, CT 1980). “Still Life on White”. Oil on Canvas. Signed Lower Right and on Rear (with title). Dimensions; site 19.5"wide x 15.5"high, with gilt frame 27"wide x 22"high. Brackman studied at the National Academy of Design and was a long time teacher at the Art Students League of NY and elsewhere. His paintings are in many Museum Collections.

Watercolor on paper painting of a lone figure in a clearing surrounded by summer trees, unframed, 9 1/4" by 14", signed at lower left "S.J YARD. 97. JUNE." This is an eastern-looking work though the subject is almost certainly somewhere in Northern California. Yard was born in Rockford, Illinois where he was able to become introduced to art.
