Print, after the original Maurits Cornelius Escher print "The Fall of Man" (1927), signed and numbered in pencil at lower left 25/100, but not by the artist himself; this is a work after the artist, likely a posthumous printing of the 1970's or later. The sheet measures 11 3/8" by 9 1/4" (28.9 cm. by 23.5 cm.), versus the somewhat larger 14 3/4" by 10 7/8" (37.5 cm. by 27.6 cm.) measurements of the authentic print. I contacted the M.C...

The unframed work measures 28 3/4" by 23", and is signed by the artist at lower left and dated there 1953. The Illinois-born Lutz is known today for his urban landscapes and genre subjects, often painted with bright color and with heavy impasto...

A group of three engravings probably by Johannas and Raphael Sadeler of Christian anchorites or hermits. The prints are after Maartin De Vos. These images were widely circulated in the early 17th century and printed and re-engraved by engravers other than the Sadelers. Interestingly of the three in this group two have no title, though they are trimmed right to the image and perhaps the title was removed...

A fine miniature portrait painting, done in watercolor on natural organic material, by Hugh Bridport. The sitter is a gentleman, purportedly John Trigg. On the reverse of the painting is a preliminary sketch of the subject, which Bridport is known to have done. Only a portion of the sketch is shown, as I did not want to peel back all the paper.

The condition of the miniature is excellent, with no flaws at all. It is housed, with a cover glass, in a red leather wallet-type case...

Glenn is known for his colorful Abstract Work in vivid brushwork, “Harbor New York”, sign lower left is the oil on canvas measuring 24 x 30“ frame size 32 x 37“ Glenn Pizer American Master Artist is known for his visit colors in masterful compositions, and has been painting for over 30 years. He is originally from the Washington DC area. His work is modern and cubist in respect to his use of jagged lines reminiscent of Clifford Still.

From our European Collection, a fine 19th century original oil on panel by British painter and listed artist William Anslow Thornley (1857-1898), entitled "Moonlight on the Thames." Signed "Thornley" lower left.

Size and condition: 13 inches x 11 inches framed dimensions, approximately 10 inches x 8 inches unframed image size. This painting has been taken care of well, there is only some very minor age-related soiling and minor scuffing to the frame.

Oil or acrylic on canvasboard abstract painting, larger sized, at 28" by 40" as framed, signed at lower left "KAYE". The art takes after any number of modern painters' work, but the arrows imagery at the bottom portion, suggests to me a bit of Uruguayan painter Joaquin Torres Garcia. The creator of this work (and two others by the same artist I have listed) was probably a talented amateur with an excellent sense of color and a knowledge of modern art. Condition is good...

This one is certainly a challenge to describe----but I will give it a go. A mixed media (watercolor, gouache, pastel and gold metallic paint mix) painting, the subject a fantastic, surreal, dream-like scene including a supine male figure with ants on his chest, leopard-like creature, moth, skulls, green, opportunistic poisonous-looking tropical style snake emerging from a woman's body, and bat hanging upside down! The piece is an impressive size at 29 1/2" by 22" (34 1/2" by 27" framed)...

Original sculpture (polymer clay over wire) by Robert Lohman (American, 1919-2001). This works is signed "Lohman" and dated 1972 on the base. It measures 23 1/2" in height. Offered in good original condition. Robert Lohman studied at the John Herron Art Institute as well as Cranbrook and Yale. He assisted Carl Milles at Cranbrook before becoming Director of Fine Arts (1947-1949). Lohman also taught at Washington University in Saint-Louis, and at the Indianapolis Art League...

A wonderful portrait miniature of an attractive young woman, painted in watercolor and gouache on organic wafer. The sitter, set against a bluish gray background, has a tortoiseshell comb in her hair and is wearing a black dress with lace at the cuffs and at the neckline. Pearl earrings and gold chains complete her ensemble.

The painting is in excellent condition, with no flaws...
