French late 19th century oil on canvas still life of flowers in various vessels on a tabletop, signed at upper right corner "J. Billou" (the "J" could be a "G" or "T"). Oddly I do not see a listing that would correspond with this name, but this is clearly a talented artist. The work measures 19 1/2" by 24" (22 1/2" by 27" framed). The colors and handling remind of some Renoir still life paintings. This was found "as-is" in northern New Jersey...

A fine antique still life, rendered in pastel and signed by the listed, famous and very collectible American artist William Henry Chandler (1854-1928). The fruits - peaches, grapes, plums and foliage are expertly portrayed by the hand of this American master.This type of Chandler is greatly sought after by collectors.

The artwork and the stunning original goldleafed wood antique frame are both in superb condition. Sight size is 12 1/2" by 8 3/4", and the framed size is 22" by 19".

Stephen Parrish, American, 1846-1938, etching, "Sunset, Gloucester Harbor", image size: 4 7/8 x 8 3/4 inches, 1880, cat. Schneider 40, SP number 40, first state of two, pencil signed. A beautiful, rich impression, Parrish makes excellent use of plate tone to imbue the scene with atmosphere. The second state, which has much less ink in the sky and sea, was later published in American Etchings.

Armand Coussens French , 1881 - 1935 Coussens was a talented and prolific color etcher. He combined the techniques of drypoint and soft-ground etching for interesting and delicate results. He often depicted cityscapes or rural landscapes. Now examples of his etchings as well as his paintings can be found in major collections internationally. An antique watercolor landscape (17 1/2" by 29 1/2", and 25 1/2" by 37 1/2" framed) featuring a peaceful scene of a house on a northeastern lake, a sail boat lazily floating by, signed lower right and dated there 1889 by the well known American 19th century painter EDMUND DARCH LEWIS (1835-1910). The artist painted from Maryland to Maine, visited Cuba and apparently Italy, and even apparently spent a short time on the Pacific coast at Monterey, California...

Otto Bacher 1856-1909 American This is a fine and rare etching by American artist Otto H. Bacher. The title of this pencil signed impression is: Venice, Shipping and the Ducal Palace, This etching was created and printed in 1880. Bacher along with a group of pupils of Frank Duveneck followed him to Florance and Venice to be with him for the summer. It was there that Bacher met and worked with Whistler. The image measures 4 1/2X 12 3/8 inches...

Watercolor on paper, 13" by 21 1/2" inside the original gold over mat, 20 1/2" by 29" in its original goldish frame (no glass), apparently unsigned, the subject the dramatic waterfalls of the tropics----Iguassu Falls on the Brazil/Argentina border, perhaps, or Victoria Falls in central Africa. Unfortunately there is no title or location given, though these would be good guesses...
