Japanese contemporary studio ware ceramic vase. Made with reddish clay and sculpted in a rounded triangular form with three large flat sides. Three curved triangular shoulders taper downward. Covered with a thick translucent white glaze with pleasing drips and crackles.

The title is: Fishermen Three, it was created and printed in 1938 and sold by Associated American Artists in New York. A late 20th century watercolor painting , 10 1/2" by 14 1/2" inside the mat, 14 1/2" by 18 1/2" in gold framing, the scene three figures in front of a walled house, the figures with loads carried on heads or in traditional pole baskets. There are two red chop marks at lower right. On the reverse is a rubber stamp of Suvida Frame, and Thai lettering. The poetic work is clean and highly decorative. A beautifully rendered miniature painting, on natural organic material, by John Barry. The sitter is an attractive and stately woman with the mass-like appearance of her hair that is one of the characteristics of Barry's work.
