Signed in the plate l.r. Jean-Pascal Sebah was the son of Pascal Sebah (1823-1886). He continued the family studio in 1888 in Constantinople. The studio specialized in scenes of Egypt and the Middle East.

A mourning portrait miniature attributed to John Henry Brown of an attractive young woman with blue eyes and long curly hair. The painting is in excellent condition with no problems. Mr. Sched, a native of Boston, who studied art at Boston College, was a member of the New York Painters Society. He taught art at Boston College and exhibited there.
