The Melton Breakfast circa 1800, First published by Hodgson & Graves, Pall Mall, on 1st October 1839. The dimensions of this photogravure differ somewhat from those of the original mezzotint and the names of the characters portrayed are engraved in the margin of this later version. The print depicts a group of eminent visitors to Melton for the hunting season. Many were guests at the big houses in the locality, others lodged elsewhere...

A miniature portrait, painted in watercolor on organic wafer, depicting a gentleman with powdered hair, a deep blue jacket, and a white shirt and tie.

The miniature is housed in a period, heavy gilt bronze frame which in and of itself has a good amount of intrinsic value.. Neither the painting nor the frame have any condition issues. Sight size is 2 1/8" by 1 5/8", with a frame size of 5 5/8" by 3 1/4".

This splendid oil on board renders a charming cape cod house overlooking the ocean. There is a road passing to its front. It is all too serene and peaceful. Given the calmness of the waves, speculate that the ocean is the Pacific. It is signed E Harkins in the lower left. Its simplicity and unpretentiousness reminds me of Edward Hopper's or Andrew Wyeth's work...

A beautiful repurposed old window redone in stained glass measuring 23x32”

This is a beautiful DOUBLE SIDED watercolor dated 1883 by the hand of listed American 19th century artist BENJAMIN FITZ (1855-1891), measuring 11 1/2" by 18 3/4" plus about 3 1/2" of liner and modern frame. I am not sure as to the authorship of the loose dry landscape on the reverse, which might be later and by a totally unrelated hand...

A nicely done miniature, on natural wafer, of a gentleman in a black. The reverse of the case is a beautiful example of repousse work, and has an aperture with hairwork within.

The painting is in good condition, with no chips, cracks, or inpainting. The case is in excellent condition and measures 2 1/2" by 2".

A very good bronze figure of a hound by Piere-Jules Mene (1810-1877). The hound stands alert look over his shoulder at the viewer. The rectangular base is well-textured with rocks and branches, typical of Mene's style. The shape of the base suggests that the casting is from Mene's own foundry and dates to the 1840s. The dogs is nicely detailed. The figure is finished in a dark black/brown patina. The front left corner of the base is signed P. J. Mene. There is no foundry mark.
