Very large 18th century stipple engraving of a fashionable crowd under the trees in the park with Buckingham house (later altered to become Buckingham Palace) in the background. Titled, “The Promenade in St. James Park,” it was engraved by F. D. Soiron, designed by Edward Dayes in 1790 and published by T. Gaugain in London in 1793. This image is the original print with hand coloring. Sight size 18 by 26 inches, frame 27 ¼ by 35 ¼ inches.

A fine miniature portrait painting, on natural organic material, attributed, by two experts, to Joseph Saunders. The sitter is a young boy dressed in blue garb with gray trim. A charming portrait miniature that can be strongly attributed to the highly thought of artist Francois Dumont (1751-1831). The sitter is an attractive young woman wearing a white dress tied over a blue shirt that is accented by the blue ribbon in her hair. The overall diameter of the fabric-backed brass frame is 2 1/8".

A very similar work by Dumont is coming up at a European auction house in December 2022, with an estimate of 1500 Euro, not including premium.
