I researched a bit on the net to see if it might be by the artists who created Curious George, (Hans-Augusto Rey(Reyersbach) and Margret Rey), but the obvious lack of resemblance to that most famous cartoon ape indicates that this drawing is not of him...

An elegant, black ink on white paper drawing of the heart of Montmartre in Paris, the famous Place du Tertre, where to this day artists endure ten year waiting lists to secure a spot outdoors to create the works tourists love to buy. This appears to be the head of a woman, perhaps Orientalist subject matter. I speculated that this might be a work by the noted Santa Fe, New Mexico modernist artist Willard Nash (1898-1943), but he did not sign like this, so far as I can determine, and the subject matter would be unusual for him...

Pencil drawing on paper by the important Russian-American artist DAVID BURLIUK (1882-1967), purchased out of a Berkshires estate in Massachusetts. The drawing measures 14 1/2" by 8 3/4" (21" by 14" framed), the lady in soft pencil and the ear study at right in blue colored pencil. It's signed and dated at lower right 27 April 1946, and is evidently after a work (perhaps an etching) by the famous German artist of the 16th century, Albrecht Durer, as Burliuk wrote "(Durer)" between the signatur...
