A very fine oil painting depicting Plymouth Harbor England at the last quarter of the nineteenth century by English artist E. Goodwin. Measuring 12” x 15”

This is an original oil on canvas painting of the Madonna and Child. It is in a gorgeous gilt wood frame. The artist was Austrian, Hans Zatzka (1886-1945) In signing the painting, he used one of his pseudonyms, H. Ballheim. The painting is dated 1886. It measures 42 1/2 inches by 37 1/2 inches.

Oil on canvas laid on board painting of small boats on a tree lined lake or river, buildings beyond, 9 1/2" by 11 1/4" in a contemporary simple frame 1 1/2" wide on a side, signed at lower right "C. Brockelmann" and dated there '13. This is a lovely, attractive, clean, pleasing work, ready for the wall despite being a century old, by the Austrian artist CAMILLO (CARL) BROCKELMANN (1883-1963)...

Oil on canvas, 21" by 15 3/4" (24" by 19 1/2" as framed), unsigned, the subject an Austrian, Swiss, or German village in deep snow on a brilliant sunny day. The sharp peak in the background center could be the Matterhorn, in which case we could assume the subject is Zermatt, Switzerland. I'd guess the age of the work as circa 1950's. On the stretcher someone has written "AUSTRIA (TIROL) cca 1950"...

Oil on canvas, 24" by 36" and 3 3/4" wide silver/goldish frame, signed at lower left by noted alpine scene artist HANS BARMA (1903-1978). This is an eye-catching painting of good size, by an artist demonstrating tremendous skill in the handling of light. The alpenglow on the distant peaks at sunset (dawn?), the shadowed areas, the areas in bright sun.....all handled with great control...
