Original oil on canvas by Dorothy Eaton (American/ 1893-1968), signed l.l. "Dorothy Eaton" and dated 1957 on the back. This painting measures 25" by 30". It is in excellent untouched original condition, and is offered in a newer gallery frame. Dorothy Eaton is very well listed, with auction records over ten thousand dollars. She studied at the ASL with Kenneth Hayes Miller. Some of her works are exhibited in the Smith College Museum of Art in Northampton, MA.

He is seated in a chair and he is wearing a stick pin and has a gold chain. It is in its original frame and the frame has some damage and has been repainted gold. Major geometric abstract oil on masonite painting, by Joseph Meierhans, circa 1940's. Gold leaf original frame - in excellent condition this work [image] measures app. 27 1/2" X 33 1/2". Meierhans, b. - 1890 in Switzerland, came to the United States in 1917, eventually settling in Bucks County. He studied under A.N.Lindenmuth and J. Sloan. He was a member of the S.Indp.Artists, ASL, Provincetown A.A. and the American Abstract Artists.

Original acrylic on panel by Arnold Mesches, measuring 11" by 23". This early work by Mesches (dated on the reverse 1959) retains its original frame and was purchased from the artist in 1960. Arnold Mesches is an extremely well-listed artist born in New York in 1923. He is known for having turned the files the FBI kept on him into works of "engage" art. He is well represented in museums around the country, among which the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the San Diego Museum of Art...

This Abstract Expressionist painting dates to 1957, and it has a partial signature on the lower left corner. It measures 38" x 28" and has a small amount of paint loss. Notice the bright and unique colors and with heavy inpasto brushwork. On 5/3/04, I presented this painting to the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation for review where I had a brief meeting with the assistant director. The painting was not confirmed, however, the painting will remain under review and evaluation...

This is a (not approved) portrait of a Philadelphia merchant named John White Fields. I named this portrait Merchant X by JSS. On 5/11/04 the Portrait was presented to the JSS Catalogue Raisonne Committee. On 5/13, the committee reported it could not attribute this portrait to JSS...
