A large watercolor on heavy watercolor paper, 22 1/2" by 32 1/2", unframed, the subject a classic landscape of northern New Mexico, with adobes and distant mountains prominent. The work is discretely signed at lower right edge area, and dated there 1938. The artist, FRODE DANN (1892-1984), was born in Denmark and educated in art at the Royal Academy. After a time in art restoration, he moved to the United States in 1926, there to begin a long career as painter, writer, art critic, and teacher...

Watercolor and gouache impressionist painting of the Dead Sea in Israel, signed in pencil at lower right in modern Hebrew script as "Hana Bar(-on)" or "Chana Bar(-on) and dated there 1970. Below that in Hebrew is written "iam hamelach" (Dead Sea). I am not able to read Hebrew but was able to show this to a Hebrew reader. The work measures 13 1/2" by 19 1/4", and is presently unframed. Attractive, vintage watercolor painting of colorful flowers in a sunny garden, measuring 9 1/2" by 14" (16" by 21" framed). This lovely work is apparently unsigned--I have opened the backing to peer inside and see neither signature nor any other information besides numbers in pencil. The painting does have some age. The artist clearly had an excellent command of the watercolor medium. The custom mat with hand drawn lines and silvery border adds to the appeal...

**ONE OF TWO WORKS BY THIS ARTIST IN MY SHOP** This is a mixed media work on paper, (watercolor and gouache) 8 1/2" by 12", 16" by 19 1/2" as framed, signed at lower right in pencil by the artist "J Cl Imbert". The landscape scene includes a few trees and a small river rendered in subdued colors. Thee primary medium is watercolor but there are tiny spots of gouache, and possibly charcoal in the tree branches, and scratching technique. No foxing or damage.

An original watercolor drawing of a familiar California theme: surfers at the beach, with lifeguard tower, palms, and two parked classic late 1940's Woodies vehicles. The work is signed at lower left "Dry......" ("Drysbock", or similar?) and measures 4 1/2" by 6 1/2". It comes matted but with no frame and glass. Likely is a contemporary work. Looks like a print but guaranteed to be original work.

A watercolor titled on reverse "The Scow ALMA", Tauranga, New Zealand, signed lower right and again on the backing, by listed England-born, New Zealand artist RICHARD "Dick" BAKER (1928-2004), measuring 6 1/4" by 9 1/2" (14 1/2" by 17" framed). The work was created in 1986. Baker's work is included in Te Papa Tongarewa, the National Museum of New Zealand, in Wellington, and at the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, England. In a new year day, three girls playing “teeter totter” with a wood panel board, a girl holding a child on her back and watching at the play ground in front of Korean houses with wearing a Korean traditional new year costume cloth. It’s in very good condition with a silk mounting and frame, it measures 43cm x 34.5cm.
