One of three works in my shop by the same artist, F. KENWOOD GILES (1899/1900-1972), is this watercolor on paper painting, 14" by 19 1/2" inside the mat, 20 1/2" by 26 1/2" as framed, the subject several pink-walled, white-roofed island homes on a bluff overlooking the sea, flowering shrubs and bushes completing the happy scene. The paintings are not dated, but I believe they would have been created in the 1950's. Giles was a versatile English artist who lived in Bermuda from 1950 onward...
Watercolor on heavy paper, 5 1/4" by 10", 10 1/4" by 14 1/2" in early 20th century dark laminated wood frame, signed at lower right in pencil "Della Vernon". DELLA VERNON (1876-1962) was an early California painter, the works of whom are considered scarce, according to the biography in the definitive Hughes Dictionary of California Artists. She was born in Iowa but was known to be in San Diego by 1901, and by 1909 she was in Oakland...

This is an original painting, Gouache and watercolor on blue toned paper. This view of Rowers in the park came to us unsigned, we do not know who painted it, it was created circa 1930's nicely framed, the image measures 8 1/2X12 inches. Rich colors, nicely framed with archival materials. The overall frame measures 15X18 inches. Unexamined out of the frame. Most likely a work by one of the 1930's American Illustrators...
Watercolor on paper painting of waves lapping at rocks in the ocean, 9" by 12", unframed, signed at lower right in blue by well-listed California artist GEORGE DEMONT OTIS (1879-1962). The simple scene of waves lapping at a rock is simple yet complete. The artist was born in Memphis, Tennessee and was raised in the Midwest after being orphaned. He showed early talent and was enrolled at the Art Institute of Chicago at 14, followed later by more training in Philadelphia and New York...

Antique floral watercolor, the subject white wild roses, 11 1/2" by 7 1/2" (17 1/2" by 13 1/2" framed in light oak), signed at lower right "M. S. Robison". The paper is loose under the mat and has slipped, as photos of corner/edges show. Re-set in proper position and enjoy this well-executed piece.
A watercolor painting featuring a street scene in exotic Cusco, Peru, the imagery of a steep walkway in the high altitude mountain city, a lone figure in classic, native Andean dress descending the steps, an extensive view of tiled rooftops, whitewashed buildings and churches completing the middle distance, as serrated mountain ranges fill the horizon. The 10 7/8" by 7 1/2" painting (15 1/4" by 12 1/4" framed) is signed at lower left "ORE" and dated there 1980. Condition is excellent...
Beautiful Chinese Watercolor measuring 23x10”
Classic watercolor work by Florida's well-listed impressionist artist, EMMETT FRITZ (1917-1995), the 6 3/4" by 9 1/2" work (14" by 16 3/4" framed) a view down one of the streets in the historic downtown area of St. Augustine on Florida's northeast coast. The piece is in fresh, clean condition with no issues. The pink, blue and green colors in this particular example are very nice. Chinese brush painting by Nie Ou. A well known female artist in China, she was born in 1948. She graduated from Central Art Academy School in Beijing and has received several awards. Her work is shown worldwide. This is one of seven pictures we have. It is mounted on silk brocade. The entire area is 19 inches by 29 inches; the picture size is 13 inches by 18 inches.
Watercolor on paper, unsigned, 14" by 18" (19" by 23 1/2" as framed/matted), American, dating likely from the late thirties to the mid fifties. The work is obviously by a talented artist, considering the way in which the flowering trellis vine has been depicted. There is a Somerville, New Jersey label on reverse from the framing outfit, from 1959, naming an Earl Potter from Potterville, NJ, but I don't believe this is the artist's name...
This is a very fine watercolor painting featuring the distinctive profile of the dominant mountain in Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco, Mount Tamalpais. The artist was the very well listed watercolorist ALFRED VILLIERS FARNSWORTH (1858-1908). Farnsworth signed the painting at lower right and dated it there 1901. This view is from the north side, approximately near San Anselmo, looking south...
“Model In White Jacket” Signed by Washington DC Artist Jason Losh, Watercolor 15x12 Mid-Century A beautiful work on paper and lovely framed
The watercolor is unsigned, 6" by 8 1/2", 10" by 13" as simply framed, the scene tall forest trees and distant mountains; there is either a stream or pathway in the foreground. I'd think it has some age, but probably not before about 1970. The artist was talented, and this will decorate a small wall nicely.
Watercolor on paper, 4" by 10 3/4" (8 1/4" by 15" as framed), signed at lower left with what appears as "Stribens" or "Stirbens"......I do not see a listing for such a name. I could be misreading it. In any event this is a decorative old vintage watercolor landscape by a talented artist, still in its original frame. There's no glass currently, but the work has survived the passage of time in excellent fresh condition, with only a tiny handful of foxing spots...
Large watercolor painting of the famous formations at Monument Valley, Arizona, arguably one of the most iconic sights of the American Southwest. The work, signed at lower left simply "George", measures 20" by 27 1/2" inside the mat and 31 3/4" by 40" framed. The artist was obviously quite skilled, but he did not leave us a lot of evidence as to his identity. The painting probably dates to the 1970's or 1980's. Condition is generally excellent, though upon close examination it does appear th...
Vintage watercolor painting of the famous miniature drawbridge in the far western part of the island (Somerset Parish), actually signed twice at lower right "Worcester" or (less likely) "Norcester", and dated "42". I am so far unable to connect this to a known, listed artist working in the islands. The work measures 12" by 16" as framed. Note the typical, quaint old whitewashed stone Bermuda house at left and the white roofs and shutters. This is one of a number of Bermuda watercolors in my...
