This is likely a scene of Maine or Massachusetts, judging from the lobster traps at left on the dock. The artist does not seem to be listed but I have seen other similar works by this hand while traveling in New England...

I have searched for a listed artist that could correspond to this name but have not come up with a compatible listing. Purchased this at a flea market in Buenos Aires, Argentina...

A large watercolor on paper on panel painting of a classical mountain landscape, dated in Chinese 1980 at upper left (and likely signed there, I cannot read calligraphy), the work measuring 32" by 22 1/2" (the entire panel 40 1/2" by 30 1/2" with metal frame, loose/no glass). The artist was obviously familiar with centuries of Chinese classical landscapes. There is light wear in several places but nothing serious. The work is loose within the frame and can be shipped with or without it.

Watercolor on paper of a street in the French Quarter of New Orleans, I think Pirates Alley, 19" by 13" inside the mat and 28 1/2" by 22 1/2" as framed, signed discretely at lower left near the fence by the listed New Orleans artist TOM LANE (1916-1991). Lane was born in Toledo, Ohio but became a familiar figure in the French Quarter, painting in oil and watercolor the familiar and much-loved scenes frequented by tourists...

Watercolor on paper painting 19" by 24" (27" by 34" frame in which found is available at no extra cost), the subject northeastern-style clapboard homes in late autumn season, signed at lower right by artist BEN ROSEN. The painting projects a certain naive charm as a bird's eye view has the viewer contemplating the scene from a unique perspective. There are small edge tears at extreme top that would be entirely hidden by new mat/framing...

"Sun Set" Watercolor on paper, 18.5" x 12.5" This master artist was born in Belgium and lived in The Hague. He was the student of the famous romantic painter Anreas Schelfhout and is best known for his landscapes. His watercolors are rare and valuable. This piece is not only an exquisit example of Destree's talents as a watercolorist, it is an unusually large watercolor for Destree, adding to its value. The piece is approximately 150 years old and in excellent condition...

A very desirable work: the ***original cover art for the November 2, 1960 issue of Palm Springs Life Magazine***, by one of California's best known mid 20th century illustrators, EARL CORDREY (1902-1977). This watercolor and gouache painting measures 17" by 12" and is executed on artist board. It depicts a Palm Springs landmark, the famous tower of the old El Mirador Hotel, dating to 1928. The tower stood through ups and downs in the economy, until it burned down in 1989...

A beautifully executed original watercolor painting of Sacre Coeur church and surrounding street in Montmartre district of Paris, titled at lower right "Paris Place St. Pierre" and signed at lower left by artist "G. Meraut". There does not seem to be information on this artist but the talent is obvious. Certainly he or she was familiar with Maurice Utrillo and his famous renderings of this special part of Paris...

PAIR of watercolor still life paintings of floral subjects, 8 1/2" by 7" inside the mat (16" by 14" framed), circa mid 19th century, likely American (purchased in Maine). Note the exquisite detail and color. Hand drawn mats add to the vintage appeal. Later 20th century gold frames are in good condition. One mat has old browning/possible water damage at lower right, not affecting the art.

A watercolor painting of what appears to be Lake Como or possibly other northern Italian lake, signed at lower right by American artist GLENN BUTLER, who was apparently associated with Indiana, he being said to have exhibited in 1957 with the Chicago Artists No-Jury Exhibition at the Art Institute.
