There is an old framer's label on the reverse backing from Boston. Condition is good, mat should be replaced, as well as old-style acidic old sawn wood backing boards. The mat edges did leave browning to mark their presence but that would be hidden completely by a new mat.

Old watercolor on paper painting, a study of trees by a lake, the artist likely American, circa 1920's, 13 1/4" by 8 1/2" inside the old mat, possibly signed at extreme lower right corner but it is indecipherable. There are old framer's instructions on the reverse side. The work was found framed and the frame is possibly available to the purchaser at no extra charge, but it is worn and tired. A fresh framing job will do wonders for this fine old watercolor painting.

Circa 1940 watercolor landscape painting, 11 1/4" by 15 1/4", 19" by 22 1/2" framed (no glass), signed at lower left by artist Edith Ovaitt. Edith appears to have been a talented amateur artist. An internet search reveals a woman by that name born in 1893 or 1898, living in Flint, Michigan at the time of the 1930 census. That Edith Ovaitt died in 1969.
