This is an original oil on tin painting of a young woman. It is apparently unsigned and so we are calling this 19th century American School. The painting measures 8X7 inches, it came to us in a period gilt frame which measures 12 1/2X11 1/2 inches. Expertly painted, this is a fine example of 19th century American portraiture.
Nassau Bahama landscape with palm trees by American artist Norman McLeish, 1890-1975. Was employed by Franklin Roosevelt‘s early 1930s works project which employed Artist that were unemployed during the depression and later went on to have their own careers. This work was done from one of his sojourns to Nassau Bahamas
Work is signed and dated 1959 and measures 12 x 16“ the frame size is approximately 20 x 24 1/2“……. Norman Macleish

Acrylic on canvas painting, 24" by 24", unframed, signed illegibly lower right, also dated there 06 and inscribed. I cannot make out the signature, and do not know if it be simply by an amateur of considerable talent, or perhaps, by a known artist? The signature most definitely has a professional look to it.
A very fine early 19th century oil on board by Henry James Richter (1772-1857), entitled "The New Gown," signed and dated "H. Richter 1823" lower right. Ornately detailed, and a very competently executed example of the realism of its era. Original period frame. Image size approximately 32 inches x 26 inches.

Oil on canvas painting of a clearing in a woodland, in early autumn, judging from some changing leaves, signed at lower right "Marina". The contemporary work measures 24" by 20" (31 1/2" by 24" framed) and is in excellent condition.
A lovely pastel drawing of a young woman, with skilled modeling of the face and careful attention to hair and spring blossom background, not signed on front but sliver of preserved old paper affixed to backing by a modern day framer states subject is one Ruth Noble, age 17, the work drawn by one Mildred Stillman, art teacher at Wyoming Academy, Kingston, Pennsylvania. Kingston is in northeastern Pennsylvania not far from Scranton and near Wilkes-Barre...
Anne Lane, American listed artist “double portrait “ Oil on canvas 36 x 36” frame size measures 43 x 43”…… Anne Lane studied art at George Mason University in Virginia, completed her education at Saint Patrick’s college, Ireland, where she studied theology and philosophy. The tonal and contemplated intensity of her paintings reflect her 10 years spent working as an artist under the desert sun of New Mexico...
Rare oil on canvas painting dating to the pre-statehood Territory of Hawaii days, 12" by 16" (15" by 19" framed), the subject given in pencil on stretcher as "Flow Up Falls" (resembles photos of the Big Island's Rainbow Falls), signed "SMITH 20" at lower right (and "SMITH" appears again on the reverse of the canvas and on the label still affixed at lower right). This is a scene of the Big Island, with 13,000 foot+ snow-capped Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa visible in the far distance...
A small gouache or tempera painting on paper, 4 3/4" by 7 3/4" (11" by 14 1/2" in wood frame), the subject given in a title as "Supper Guest"; a saddled horse waits outside the fence in a chilly wintry scene in front of an old, unpainted weathered wood house, some lights hinting at more comfort inside. The artist JEFFREY CRAVEN (1950-) signed his name at lower left adjacent to the title. Craven is a professional artist in the Snake River area of southern Idaho...

A large oil on canvas by Henry Charles Lee (American, 1864-1930) titled on the stretcher, “Winter Landscape” and signed lower left “Henry C. Lee.” He lived in Cornwall New York and in France, where he died. The stretcher had an old label for a French artist supplies dealer Lucien LeFevre-Foinet with the number 7350.
Under a partly cloudy but blue sky the sun casts the shadows of bare trees on the slope in the foreground while the hills and cloudy sky show beyond...
Oil on canvas of two horses eating cut greens with chickens pecking the earth nearby in a clean but slightly rundown curral (farmyard) under bright sunlight and with bright red blossoming tree behind the horses losing some blossoms. Giovanni Oppido (1907-1988) is a well documented Brazilian artist. The painting is 23 x 46 ¼ inches (58.4 x 117.5 cm) with frame 27 ½ x 50 inches (69.8 x 127 cm)...
Andrew Thomas Schwartz (American, 1867-1942) oil on canvas of a hilly landscape with the morning mist rising off the more distant hills. A few evergreens, probably cedars, sit in the field that appears to be tan with autumn. The only sign of habitation is a low stone wall. A very similar painting though slightly larger was sold at Doyle in New York in 2006 titled, “Clearing, Morning, Blue Ridge Mountains, Virginia” and dated 1912...

Impressionist painting of a small brook in a landscape, bordered by trees, the season perhaps early spring, suggested by the white ground-hugging flowers in the foreground. The unsigned work, on board, measures 19" by 14 1/2" (21 3/4" by 17" in attractive gold frame). The artist could be American, or European...there is old pencil notation on the reverse in American handwriting referring to varnish type. Max Kassler, American 1905–1992, was an abstract artist known for his unusual experimental work based on the human figure. He was an early student of the cubist school of painting. Kassler's vivid coloration enhanced these perspectival studies in abstract form to create a compelling body of work.
