It’s in very good condition with a silk mounting and frame, it measures 43cm x 34.5cm.

Chinese fan painting of two cats by the artist Xu Beihong. The cats, one with eyes wide, the other asleep, crouch on a rock under a leafy branch. Xu Beihong (1895-1953) was born in rural Yixing, Jiangsu Province. His father was a private school teacher and Xu began painting at the age of 9. He traveled to Tokyo to study art, returning to China to start teaching at Peking University Arts School...

A nicely painted miniature portrait, on natural organic material, of a pretty young woman in a blue dress with a white fichu. Condition of the painting is excellent, with no problems. The glass in the rear aperture of the case is cracked. Overall size is 2 3/4" by 2 1/4".

A watercolor painting of tropical hibiscus, signed at lower left by listed California artist MARCIA A. PATRICK (1875-1964). The work measures 16 1/2" by 11 1/2" inside the mat and 22 1/2" by 17 3/4" framed. Patrick was in Los Angeles by 1910. A physician, she is known to have painted florals and landscapes. In 1937 the prestigious Stendahl Gallery held an exhibition of her work. Patrick was active in local art clubs, including Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles, in 1936-37...

Porfirio Salinas (American Artist) 1910-1973. This painting is signed on the lower left corner and measures approx. 20" tall x 24" and is in Excellent condition. These are the dimension of the painting. The owner purchased this painting in the early 1950's in Texas. It has hung in her living room ever since. A watercolor miniature portrait done by Richard Morrell Staigg. The sitter is a nice-looking blue-eyed young man in a black coat and cravat, with a light blue vest. As is usual with Staigg, the painting is superbly limned. It is housed in one half of a leather case.

The condition is excellent, with no problems whatsoever. Sight size is 3 1/2" by 3".

A fine portrait painted by Thomas E. Barratt using watercolor on organic substrate. (In person this work displays much better than the photographs show.)
