A large print of the steam and sail ship "La Touraine", the sheet approximately 25" by 36", total dimensions of frame 34 1/2" by 45 1/2". This is a highly decorative item for the nautical and marine art collector. The artist who created the painting on which the print was based was American FRED PANSING (1844-1916). In the 1960s, Haku Maki was beginning his career as a modern print maker. He used ersatz titles for different series of prints: Cell, Animal Song for the Zodiac, Proportion, Work, Figure,and Emanation. Flower Song was another. Here we show Flower Song 6, which I have just acquired, and Flower Song 3 which I have owned for a long time The others are not noteworthy. This one measures 13 x 17in/48 x 34cm.

For the Hawaiiana fans, here is a clean Hale Pua anthuriums print, 13 3/4" by 10 3/4" (24 1/2" by 20 1/2" framed). Close up magnification shows it to be some kind of later photo of an original airbrush painting, I believe (offset printing-type dots visible with a magnifier). The color seems to be just printed on rather than airbrushed, the signature, likewise. You need a magnifying glass to tell the difference...
