This large and lovely glass Tam-O-Shanter lamp shade is a beauty to behold. Its colors glimmer amber in the right lighting, but may often appear a rich ruby red. The waisted top rise to a trumpet opening with ruffled rim.

Features a piece of amber carved and polished in the shape of a blossom, surmounting a sterling silver stem with vines and leaves. A small bud is represented by an amber bead. The pin stem is marked 925, indicating a possible European origin or maker, as European makers usually marked the pin stems. The rollover clasp is in good working order. The pin measures 2 ¾ inches long by 5/8 inch wide at the blossom.

The undecorated back bears the Polish marks for sterling silver, post-1985, as well as other marks as yet unidentified. The mark indicates regional assay office of Poznan. The clip measures 2 1/8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide. Weight: 18 grams
