Exquisite glazing featuring a gradation that seems a product of both firing conditions and careful nurture by the artist. This piece displays a wonderful balance and nice sense of three-dimensionality.

In fine condition, this tea bowl measures 4.7 inches in diameter (11.8cm) and stands 3.3 inches tall (8.2cm). The bowl comes with its own wood box with poetic name "朝日" (Asahi) inscribed on the inside cover.

A vintage Japanese Okidoko (Tokonoma alcove chest) made of a dense grain Akita Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. Originally it was used to showcase Ikebana flower arrangements, special porcelain vases, Japanese sculptures, or seasonal displays...

Excellent addition to any glass collection! Designed by Tom Connally, this decanter stands 12 1/4 inches tall with it's mushroom cap stopper. (10 3/4 inches without) and is 2 3/4 inches in diameter. The color is a crisp, clear blue. The decanter has a heavy base so its not easily tipped. These pieces were hand blown so there are variations in the glass and structure. Rare, Made only from 1969 to 1972. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks.

Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Temple in the Wood" depicting deer at a shrine deep in the woods around Nara by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) dated Showa 15 (1940). Posthumous memorial edition as marked in the upper left margin. The artist's black ink stamped signature and red seal is at the lower left. The print is block titled and signed in the lower margin. This very nice Chinese seal stone carving of a seated merchant is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a well dressed merchant sitting comfortably while holding a bag on his shoulder. He has an engaging smile on his face. It is 2 3/8” high, 1 ¾” wide and 1” thick. It is in excellent condition.

Vintage Japanese uchikake (wedding kimono) crafted from heavy woven and embroidered silk brocade fabric with extensive gilt thread in a dense pattern of flowers and peacocks. Mid-20th century. The lining is fine red silk. Very good overall condition with only minor wear at the bottom corners where the lining meets the brocade. Measures about 73" in length by about 50" across. From a Casa Grande, Arizona collection.

A snow laden tree and torii gate are at the left. Titled "Snow at Ozawa; Torii Gate and a Cottage" the print was published by Watanabe prior to 1930. The title and artist's red Shotei seal are at the upper left...

Beautifully engraved Japanese silver (.950 standard) cigarette case, early to mid 20th century, maker unknown, stamped with sterling and .950 standard, originally for cigarettes, now useful as card case. Measures 4 5/8" wide, 3 3/8" deep including latch and 3/8" high. Very fine quality silver, not unlike the wonderful master metal workers of the Meiji era, with lush designs of bamboo plants on a background of woven design...

Very beautiful Kinsai Iroe Shino ware tea bowl, signed and inclosed in its original wooden box. It was made about 60 years ago and it is decorated with a shiny gold leaf design and images of grass and plum trees.

The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. Signature on base.

This is a wonderful vintage Japanese Raku style tea cup of Ohi ware, which was made about 50-60 years ago. The seal of 'Ohi' is stamped on the bottom. This tea cup has an amazing amber glaze.

The original wooden box is also included.

Ohi ware has become well known for its use of Ame-gusuri, or amber glaze. Being a Raku style, it was low-fired and is quite light and soft in the hands...
