Tea caddy (chaire) of Shigaraki ware with characteristic, mottled, beige glaze over brownish, rough corpus. Lid of finely worked ivory. Signed with potter’s mark in the bottom. A heavy silk storage bag (shifuku) with stylized flower pattern comes with the piece. Showa, circa 1960. H 8 cm, D 6 cm. Condition: Perfect.

This large carved 1970¡¯s lapis snuff bottle is 3 ½ inches tall, 2 ½ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches in depth. One side depicts two magpies standing under a rose bush; the other side is plain. It was carved and polished very well and it is in great condition.

pants. His right hand is holding a straw bag and a wooden tobacco pipe; his left hand is holding a long bamboo staff. It is in great condition.
A nice quality openwork pierced sterling silver serving tray by Ryrie Ellis (later Birks) c1920s. This 9" tray features hand engraving in the cutouts and it weighs 182.5 grams. It is stamped STERLING 925 R MADE IN CANADA, and it is in excellent condition with no monograms, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Three cups and saucer trays by Noritake, Japan, mid 50’s. Saucers shaped like water lily leaves – a modernist design also reminding of the painter’s palette shape so much in vogue in the 50’s in ceramics, jewelry, teak wood and more. The cups to fit at one side, in order to allow for a sandwich or some biscuits. The back with the N and ribbon mark in use from 1953. Width of saucers "9 ½ / 24 cm, height of cups "2 2/3 / 6.8 cm.
