A dish by preeminent avant-garde artist Yagi Kazuo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Haku Ogi Kashizara dating from the 1960s. The plate is ribbed like the surface of a folding fan, thus the name. It is roughly 7 inches (17.5 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition.

Bi faced "ghurra" (churning rod holder) finely carved to represent a back to back, squatting, human couple, man opposite woman. Wood, with nice dark brown glossy patina. The ghurra was carved in Nepal, and is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Its height (without the stand) is 22.7 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: The ghurra is a tool which has been used for centuries by Nepali people for churning milk into butter...

Mushroom masks use the natural form of tree parasitic fungi with minimal modification. Only the openings of the mouth and eyes as well as the nose are the work of the sculptor. They are rarely worn by dancers but more generally hanged inside the house where they will acquire a beautiful black patina of soot. Often the softer part of the interior formed by the spores of the mushroom falls and thus reveals a different color without patina. This one shows a double mouth which can be interpreted...
Antique Chinese pair of square hardwood tables. Each table is inset with a large square porcelain panel which sits into the top and is removable. The panels are glazed with scrolling vines and flowers with bats in the corners on a greenish blue ground. Each table has a solid shelf and swirling aprons.

Finely carved chief sceptre with a genie sitting on its top, surmounting a squatting ancestor, under which are geometric relief designs leading to the lower part. Wood, with nice glossy patina. Old porcelain ball attached with a small cotton rope to the top of the genie's head. Indonesia, Borneo Island, Dayak ethnic group. Height: 38,.5 cm. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Chinese dingyao bowl of shallow conical form with lobed rim. The widely flaring sides divided into six lobes, with indentations along the rim corresponding to thin raised lines radiating from the circular inner well.

Condition: Very good overall condition. Some kiln grit and a firing flaw on one of the lobes.

A brilliant red transparent lucite jewelry box or dresser box, the hinged lid inset with a sterling silver medallion illustrating a pair of lovebirds. The interior of the lid has a small round mirror. The medallion is stamped "Sterling" and has a design patent number registered in 1945.
