The clear glass figures have wide black sombrero's, long black mustaches and black arms with folded hands (similar in style to the Oriental figures by Seguso). Makanai which is a kimono worn at home after work in the Nanbu region, where is the east part of Aomori prefecture. It is made of hemp cloth whose wefts and warps are hand-plied and lightly vegetable indigo dyed. The lining is machine-spun cotton. It has very fine sashiko with indigo dye cotton yarn. In good condition but has light stains in front as well as in the back. The last image is from the book "Michinoku-no-Kohu-no-Sekai" by Tanaka Chuzaburo. The first half of the 20th century...

These two rare Morgantown Princess optic amber wine stems are little pieces of fine art glass. Each whisper-thin crystal clear Princess optic bowl is mold blown and hand finished. The amber, almost root beer color stems, are pulled from the base of the bowl and given a twist before being attached to the broad flat foot. The optic blown crystal is so shiny and thin - like a wisp - that I had a hard time capturing the optic details... each has a nice ring...

This very nice boxwood statue with a fitted hard wood base is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a legendary Chinese figure called Ji Gong with one hand holding a wine bottle and the other hand petting his pet lion. It is 9 ½” high (with base is 10 7/16” high), 7 ¾” wide and 4” thick.
