A German majolica lidded pot or box by the Staatliche Majolika-Manufaktur in Karlsruhe, c 1930's. Of cylindrical shape, the glaze light green, the lid with a crackled finish, and decoration of a rearing horse. Relief moulded mark and model number 4083. Diameter of lid "4/ 10 cm, height including lid "2 1/4/ 5,5 cm. Condition: small glaze flake to inner rim of lid.
A Japanese mezzotint print by artist Katsunori Hamanishi (b. 1949-present). He graduated with an art degree from Tokai University in 1973 and has since been living in Kyoto to work on his printmaking.
This mezzotint is titled "Play-I", numbered 20/70 of its series, and hand signed by the artist in pencil.

This lovely vase was made in the early 1950s by Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso. Marc Heiremans documents the model #5148 and date of 1952-53 in his book DINO MARTENS, p. 163 and 190.
Aventurine, champagne and opalino half filigree embrace the body of the vessel and ribbon details were applied to the lip and neck. The vase measures 5 1/2"H, 4 1/2"D. and is in good vintage condition.

Five unique plates by Tomimoto Kenkichi, from various eras depicting bucolic scenery each uniquely signed on the back. Kenkichi changed his signature regularly, which makes it very easy to date his works. These date from the 1950s. Each is between 18.5 and 19.5 cm diameter (roughly 7-1/2 inches). Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead of flattened ball shape with black body and 2 pairs of sunflower and face designs. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Superbly made piece, in perfect condition. Diameter 0.81 inches.

This beautiful brilliant bowl seems to be unsigned, but it is truly beautiful and extremely heavy. There is one tiny flake at the top of one of the teeth. It measures 9" in diameter.

The iconography of the Hayagriva horse is often found in Buddhist iconography. Japanese scroll painted with ink and colors on paper depicting the Rokkasen (Six Famous Poets of Japan that lived in 9-10th century) seated on the ground in different attitudes. Wonderful Zen quality to the brushwork, great composition, beautiful use of color. Brocade silk mounts, lacquered wood scroll ends. Inscribed with a short poem, signed KEIZAN, and marked with red paste seal and another seal lower on the painting. Scroll size 60x15 inches, painting size 26.5x10.5 inches.
