The Newport or Hairpin pattern was made by Hazel Atlas during the 1930's. The color is amethyst, though Hazel Atlas called it 'Burgundy' in the original ads. "Frence hand painted" mark French Porcelain fluted marquise shape small Dish, maybe Samson Porcelain factory, 1960's, 1" high, 4" 3 1/4" wide, beautifully raised enamel painted of Pomegranate branch in the center inside border of scrolling vines with lots of brilliant gold highlighted. Marked "France Hand painted". The condition is like new.
