A French Vallauris dish by Cerenne, with black, silky glaze. Decoration in bright enamels of a gardener with his tools and flower pots.The back with impressed Vallauris mark and painted MC (painters signature) and Cerenne Vallauris. Cerenne (=CRN) was the signature used by one of the largest ceramic workshops in Vallauris, led by Charles René Roger Neveux. Diameter "8¾/ 22,5 cm. Condition: small rubbing to the glaze just outside the right flower.

The handle and roses on the lid are applied. The dish is hand painted in brilliant colors and amply gilded. It would be used as a pot-pourri dispenser. This pair of porcelain vases was produced in Germany by Meissen in 1973. They measure 5 1/4 inches high and have a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. They have a rich cobalt blue ground. The reserves on the front of the vases are expertly hand painted. The sprays of brightly colored flowers are framed in elaborate gilded cartouches. There are other gilded features and trim. They have a graceful shape with pedestal bases and handles. It is lovely to find a matching pair...

Two interesting German Art Déco pieces from Carstens Uffrecht: interwar period design from around 1930, a small dish/ ashtray and a larger dish. Orange and blue geometric decoration against a mottled white ground, both on supports of distinct, sculptural shape. Raised factory mark and painter's signature. Diameter "8/ 20 cm, width of smaller dish "6/ 15 cm. Condition: restored chip to rim on the larger dish at 10 o’clock.

French Majolica plate by Cerenne, Vallauris, 1950's. Relief moulded and brightly painted decoration of sea food, the animals forming reserves for six oysters. Charles René Roger Neveux ("Cerenne" = CRN) was the leader of one of the most popular ceramic studios in Vallauris. Diameter "10/ 25,5 cm. Condition: a few minimal chips and a small restoration to the rim as seen on photo.
