The handling and modelling of clays in various colors necessary for the creation of this kind of art objects was a complicated procedure, mastered only by Jean Gerbino and his family in Vallauris, the French studio pottery center of the period. 19044536 A 19th century lithophane of a weeping semi-nude woman leaning against the wall in a room with an overturned chair, a spinning wheel and paintings on the wall above the wainscotting. The back of the lithophane is marked “1421.” The lithophane is 4 ½ by 5 inches.

Here is a lovely and rare red Argenta fruit platter designed by Wilhelm Kage for Gustavsberg, Sweden. It measures 7 1/2" in diameter. On the underside is stamped in gold the old Gustavsberg anchor insignia, Argenta, the model number 1003 I. The original label is partially intact (see photo). All silver intact.

Two lovely pottery vases by Czech Dux, c 1930 or late 1920’s, the larger vase drop shaped, the smaller one bulbous. Slip glaze decoration of grapes in blue, green and brown over white. Height “11 ½ / 29 cm and “4 / 10.5 cm respectively. Green acorn within triangle mark and DUX to the larger vase, impressed model numbers to both. Condition: minor crackling to glaze of the smaller vase, the larger with a nick to the foot rim.

The size of Trinket Box: 2 3/8" Long x 1 1/4" W x 2 1/4" High. This is very adorable French Porcelain Limoges Trinket Pig Box. It is all hand painted. The subject of Little lady pig taking the nap on the blue cushion with semi bikini. Inside box has her bikini top as well as sunglass and necklace. The bottom of Box said, "Peint Main B.L" signed with Limoges France marked. The metal works are done in copper instead of brass(yellow). This is most adorable Trinket Pig Box seen. This interesting vase has a notch in it making it look a little like Pac Man, but giving it a very distinct form. However, we believe that it was created in a studio by excellent ceramicists who decorated the vase with free flowing green and blue glazes. One side has a stack of incised chevrons running down the center. The underside is marked with what appears to be W NZ VI, marks whose identity elude us. The vase has considerable heft for its size.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1933. The date codes indicate this year. It is signed by the artist E. Barker. The plate measures 10 ¾” in diameter. This superb vase by Berndt Friberg for Gustavsberg measures 5 1/2" (14cm) tall and is 3 1/2" (9cm) in diameter. On the underside is incised Friberg with the Gustavsberg Studio hand insignia. The date code H signifies this vessel was created in 1966. The glaze is a complex of blues and reds. Perfect foot ring and exceptional condition.

Offered is a unique, original drawing by Wilhelm Kage for his celebrated Argenta series for Gustavsberg. This was acquired from a source that knew Kage personally (name protected). This would be a superb complement to the large Argenta urn on the site.

Here is a superb example of Wilhelm Kage's celebrated Argenta series produced for Gustavsberg, Sweden. All the silver decoration is completely intact, which is rare for a piece created in 1949. See photo for markings. Perfect in every way.
