A special box to hold a secret? This is an unusual rectangular bronze casket-form in ornate Gothic Revival style, having cast bas relief, highly decorated with religious motif illustrating scenes from the life of Christ; circa 1870's. The original interior is lined with balsa wood and most likely used as a tobacco cigar caddy box. These boxes were popular souvenirs of the European Grand Tour and were based of the great treasures of Continental Europe...

This box, although not signed, appears to be done by DeVez. It has a lovely sceic enamel top of a house in the snow It also is decorated on the sides, and measures 2 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide. It is in perfect condition.

Here is a fabulous piece of crewel which may be used as either a coverlet, wall hanging or rug. The crewel is 100% wool and has a linen backing. Issues: the backing needs to be re-tacked in certain areas, there is minor staining,and the crewel is pilling in a few areas. We prefer not to clean it. Measures 40" x 67".

A rare carved bone abacus with integral reverse glass painting depicting four boys, in a garden setting, peering into a large fish bowl. A nice vintage leather box embossed “Studs” on the top. Most of these boxes are round, but this example is a much more uncommon horseshoe, the lid also embossed with a horseshoe. These boxes were original intended to store shirt studs or cufflinks, but can be used for any variety of gentleman’s accessories.
