Japanese Meiji to Taisho period ogi folding fan decorated with a single bird in flight over treetops. Signed at the right and with artist's seal. Late 19th to early 20th century. Measures about 8 3/4" vertical x 18 7/8" across from tip to tip. Very good, clean overall condition with some minor crinkling of the paper at the corners. The paper at the right edge is slightly distressed. From an old New Orleans collection.

Large Victorian sterling silver meat serving fork, the tines with matte gilding and bright-cut engraving. The reverse is marked "925 Sterling 1000". Nice weight. Unknown American maker.

Large Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain bowl decorated on the exterior wall with stylized forms thinly washed in deep blue-gray over a celadon-gray crackled ground. The interior is unglazed at the center where another bowl was stacked in the kiln. This bowl was probably produced by a Fujian kiln for export to Southeast Asia. 9 3/8” diameter x 3 3/8” high. 19th century. A dish of scalloped rim form of six-sun size decorated with a central motif of a bouquet of Cherry blossom wrapped in the traditional manner for formal presentation with a sheath of washi paper, tsutsumi, shaped into a horn and tied with cord. The rim of the dish decorated with auspicious motifs of gobenka and cho butterflies in the typical Imari three colour palette dating to the Kyoho period circa 1710-40. 19th century ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in drum shape body made out of dark hardwood and staghorn, and a functioning compass on top. Very pleasant patina, in excellent condition. Diameter 5/8 inches. Wooden stand used for photography is not included.
