Japanese 2-section isho tansu (clothing chest of drawers), from the Kyoto area. The chest is made with Sugi (cypress) wood in the original glossy red lacquer finish a lacquering process know asiro-urushi (色漆), literally "color lacquer"and has 11 drawers with charming heart-shaped keyholes and black iron warabite pulls. The top section houses a large open compartment behind two Keyaki (elm) sliding panels in a dark finish, with black lacquer frames...

An antique Japanese Cha Tansu (tea chest) made entirely of Rosewood (Shitan). Beautiful configuration of sliding doors, shelves and drawers. Each display shelf has an arabesque border and the center and top shelf have a horizontal scrolling design. The top, back and sides all have floating panels and the chest has an open air design with areas for storage.

Korean kitchen chest decorated with beautiful brass hardware. It has two sets of hinged doors with brass handles decorated with flora designs, and four drawers, each with a small bat shaped handle. The Korean word for 'bat' is a homophone for the Chinese word for 'good fortune', so bats are considered a good luck charm. Size: 50.25" height, 39.25" width, 18.75" depth

Beautiful simple Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest). Made of solid kayak (Elm) wood with dramatic natural wood grain. This is an antique Japanese 3 section Isho Kimono Tansu made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Each section interlocks by way of a dual carrying handle/locking bar connection. Constructed using Japanese straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails. The top section features a shelf for additional storage while the center section has three Kimono trays behind the front doors with two large drawers for additional storage in the bottom section...

A Chinese, Yaozhou, bowl of conical form; C10-12th. Lightly potted and of refined aesthetic, the deep flaring sides rising from a short spreading foot, covered overall with an olive-green glaze. Diameter, 12.9 cm.   Condition: good. Free from cracks, chips or repair. Light surface wear; consistent with age. There is some mottling to the appearance of the glaze; see photos.
