A spectacular and beautiful circa 1730 English silk embroidered apron front, exquisitely embroidered in polychrome silk and metallic threads with garlands and sprays of flowers urns. Scalloped edges are finished with embroidered metallic trim. A somewhat later but very similar example is shown in The Lotus Collection.

Chinese yellow Crackle ware Pottery Brush Washer and brush Holder, Ca. pre 1920, 1 5/8" high-maximum measurement, 2 3/4" wide,1 3/4" deep-maximum measurement, with crackled yellowish beige color glaze, a high relief frog beside rock garden on the top next to a round hole 3/8" diameter to hold a single brush. This crackle ware Brush Washer has glaze crack and few glaze flake frits on the glaze.

Japanese shigaraki jar, Edo period 17th-18th century, thickly potted, the skin showing the characteristic pock marks and imbedded fieldspar with a natural ash glaze. This jar was originally used to store tea but became desired as an object of mingei beauty due to the tea ceremony aesthetics. It measures 4.5" wide at mouth 21' tall.

Beautiful and rare famille rose porcelain dish with very well painted figural and landscaping decoration. Qianlong six characters reign mark and of the period. Condition: Excellent, there are small chips on the foot rim, it looks like that these chips were already there before the enamel applied. Please refer to the enlargements to confirm this. Antique Japanese bronze figure of Quanyin from the Meiji period, late 19th century. The figure is holding a scroll and wearing draped robes decorated with necklaces and flowers. Quanyin is the buddhist goddess of compassion. It measures 12" tall, 4" wide at base.

This is an old Chinese inkstone has hand carved ox with head turned toward the natural "dragon's eye" moon. There are some chips along the edges of the ink stone and areas of natural inclusions. This pendant is carved on both sides in the form of a peach hanging from a leafy stem. It is suspended from a twisted gold wire loop from a small pierced hole at the top. Chinese Export Rose Mandarin low relief and open design Porcelain Brush Pot, 4 1/2" high, 2 1/2" diameter, Ca. 1830, with molded and low relief design of Chinese Scholars in the garden scene, raised design in overglaze enamel decoration. Glaze star crack on the bottom and two(2) stains on unglazed bottom rim. Some kiln bubbles popped on the gilded top rim which is somewhat worn from the usage.

Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain covered box or jar with cover, Ca. 1850, 4 1/8" high, 4" wide-widest part, 3 7/8" diameter-top opening, drum shape box, top with raised nail head on the lower part of the box and the top. Overglaze Rose Medallion design inside the cartouches, the rest area is decorated with flowers, leaves and stylized flying bats in pink background enamel. The condition is good except very shallow flake chip the size of 1/8" wide inside the unglazed top rim area.

Japanese Blue and White Transfer ware Porcelain Square cut corner deep Platter, 12" square, 1 1/2" high, pine tree, mountain and river design in the center, and two different shade of transfer blue design of trees, foliage and butterflies on the wide border. One shallow flake chip 3/4" wide underneath the rim and some old frits on the corner of the dish, and scratches in the glaze on top of the dish.

Japanese Blue & White Imari Porcelain deep Serving Dish, Ca. 1920, deep flat bottom dish for serving food, 12" diameter, 2 3/4" high, with underglaze blue decoration of mountain, pine tree and Japanese style house. Wide border of flowers in blue transfer design on inside and outside the rim, transfer blue mark on the bottom. Stained old chip 1/2" wide on the foot rim, and some scratches on top of the dish.

"Tiffany Studios" Gilded Bronze Paper Clip, Art Deco period 1920, 2" x 2 1/4" wide, 1" high, marked "Tiffany Studios, New York, 358, 1805", no damages except some gilding is worn on the corners.

An uncommon tinsel, or foil, painting on glass. Extremely vibrant, with deep colors, the painting shows a bluebird surrounded by a variety of fruit, with a compote of fruit behind it. It is rare to have a foil scene without a lot of open space between subjects.

The painting is in excellent condition, as is the later frame, which measures 16 1/4" by 13 1/4".

The painting depicted court musicians playing divine music called Bugaku. Bugaku is a Japanese court music accompanied by dancing. Here one of the players plays shen (a bamboo instrument first produced in China in 7th century) and the other one sounds a massive drum with mitsudomoe crest (three comma-shaped figures in a circle). Massive and antique, Chinese Ming-style porcelain dragon dish: with writhing dragons centering an aubergine dragon; amid clouds to the interior and exterior on a bright yellow ground; with six-character mark. Size: Diameter of this fine dish is 20 inches. Condition Report: Good Condition.

A Chinese abacus with Huanghuali wood frame and beads, the back board is of soft wood; the rods are of bamboo except two metal ones. Late Qing Dynasty. Condition: minor chips and cracks on wood and bamboo rods as shown on enlargements; nice patina. Size: 13-3/8"X6-3/4"X1-1/8".

The quality of the carving is extraordinary. This bamboo brush pot comes from an old German collection, there still is an old inventory number to the base of the piece. There is a Chinese inscription to the piece which can be translated as follows : "the boat is ready to go to heaven, the prince will go seek help from god". Qing Dynasty, nineteenth century or earlier. H : 14,4 cm. Diameter : 10,9 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice patina.
