8Th - 10Th Century Bronze Head of Buddha. 4 cm high.
A magnificent and rare Amida Nyorai bronze Buddha, made in the early Edo Period, which means in the early 17th. century. This statue was made in a way called lost-wax metal casting, also known as Rougata Chuuzou, which was popular only in the 6th. century and in the Edo time.
The statue is in good antique condition with no repairs or cracks.

The base is made up of several small wooden parts finely cut with flowers, scrolls and Greek motifs. The majority of the wood is dark brown, almost black, small inserted panels are made of boxwood, the barriers are made of bone. These barriers were tinted green, a color today almost completely erased by light and time, however more pronounced shades of green remain in the most sheltered places. This barrier is carved with plum blossoms, bamboo stems and pine needles...

Very pretty Satsuma earthenware bowl, round in shape, decorated with gold and polychrome enamels, representing inside the bowl, courtesans and children, in a garden, under maple trees, and near a lake. The kimonos are sumptuous by the thickness of gold used and the finesse of the details. The perimeter represents a meeting of samurai and on the other side courtesans under cherry blossoms. A large greenish-reddish patinated bronze vase worked on relief of a falcon, with the head turned to the right, on a big branch that wraps the vase obliquely starting from the bottom up to the upper neck. Lobed rim and gilded eye of the falcon.
Engraved Masayuki 正之 signature under the base.

A very rare Song longquan celadon octagonal shape cup, square octagonal shape rim with round flared foot and unglazed base, cup decorated with octagonal shape and covered in green glaze.
Cup is in good condition with fritt / small shallow chip and hairline at the rim, very rare to find a celadon cup in octagonal shape.

Edwardian sterling silver picture frame. Retailed by JE Caldwell in Philadelphia. Rectangular with alternating vertical plain and pinstripes. At top horizontal frame between engraved garlands. With glass, silk lining, and velvet back and hinged support. Marks include maker’s (Lebkeucher) and retailer’s stamps and no. 2707JJB. Good condition. Top rail has minor lifting. Velvet wear and discoloration.

Adorable Soap stone carving of Fu dogs on wooden Stand. One large fu dog dominates as a small dog is perched on back, and two climb and encircle the large dog. Intricate detail in the bodies of dogs, showing fluidity and movement. Soapstone is set on a flat wood carved stand of lilies and branches.

A very nice quality Japanese chawan, rice bowl, of conventional form dating to the Kyoho period, c.1716-1736, decorated with an auspicious pattern, kisshon-ga, featuring a ring motif containing auspicious clouds, painted in a combination of gilt and iron red wash, and Karahana, so called Chinese or “Tang flowers”, painted in a striking pallet of iron red, green, yellow enamels and gilding. Fine annamese vietnamese blue and white jar, rounded side with globular body and unglazed base, jar decorated with under glaze blue of flower motif, good glaze.
Condition : perfect, no chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations.

Description: A long neck yellow-glazed bottle vase was mold in elegant shape.
Decorated on the shoulder with lotus petals in vivid curves, the bottle was well proportioned and stand by a flat bottom.
Having been through thousands of years under earth, the surface was spread immensely with fine crackles and some stains.
The condition was very good with the least abrasions.
