Late Meiji (1890s to 1912) Japanese temple boxwood seal of round section with original boxwood cover. Excellent quality crisp carving in seal script, old red seal paste in the grooves. Plastic peg indicates the position of the top of the imprint. Beautiful patina on the surface of wood, signs of use adding to the presence of the object. This particular piece is a very unique, stone prayer tablet. It is difficult to date but stylistically could be as early as the Five Dynasties period (907-960 AD). These tablets were often found in conjunction with the ceramic offering vessels from Yunnan. The tablets would accompany the offering vessels and would sometimes comprise an enclosure for the offering vessels. (See trocadero item number 797164 for an example of the offering vessel)...

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Cauldon around 1900. It was made especially for Ovingtons in New York. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. It is decorated with wide bands of heavily embossed gilding. Cut iron tsuba. Mysterious motif where two spades appear which should represent spearheads or swords. The tail of Japanese dragons is sometimes depicted in this way. The decor is simple but very elegant. The carving as well as the finish are very neat. Difficult to date with precision. Probably from the Edo period, maybe earlier. Interesting and impressive large stamp seal of the hemispheric form so popular in the late Ubaid/Uruk period in Mesopotamia.

Rare glass master salt cellar in the shape of a flower with a matching spoon in the shape of a shovel. It is in excellent condition. A pale vaseline glass miniature or crocus vase on a stemmed base; 4 1/2" tall

A Rare Korean Fine White Glazed Baluster Shape Porcelain Jar-18th C.: Korea, Joseon Period, 18th century. The finely potted baluster form with bulbous shouler and tapering waist and raised mouth rim, decorated with an overall warm and slilght blue tinged white glaze applied, some areas slightly discolored in firing. It’s in fine condition but a small chip repaired near the foot (see photo #2), otherwise very fine condition, it measures 10.25” h. x 8” (26cm x 20.8cm).

Four(4) Chinese Export Blue and White Porcelain Plates, Qianlong period 1736-1795, 9" diameter, 1 1/8" high, underglaze blue decoration of landscape design inside Fan in the center within four(4) sets of floral decoration, and sprays of floral and fan shape design spread out on the outer border with thin brown color rim. One(1) chip size of 1/4" x 1/8" under the rim, small bruise on the one of the plate, several frits on the bottom rim.

Highly ornate silver belt buckle with turquoise and coral Stones, Tibetan, 19th century, mounted on contemporary black leather belt. The silver buckle measures 7 1/4" wide, and is 1 1/2" deep, with two large bezel set coral beads and a turquoise stone between them. The black leather is 1 3/8" wide and 47 3/4" long. The sections with holes will adjust to waist size of 36 1/2" to 40", though more holes could be made to make it fit a smaller waist. The buckle is curved slightly from end to end...

An ornate, finely decorated rectangular galley drinks tray c1910. This 11-1/8 x 8" tray has a pierced gallery and it is of heavy and solid construction (it weighs 640 grams). It is silver plated on copper and it has the maker's mark for Charles Howard Collins of Birmingham, England (founded c1895). This item is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two small areas on the inside edge at the gallery showing copper (the largest is 1/4" long)...

Very rare Staffordshire figural inkwell in the form of two birds nesting amongst flowers. A beautifully modeled and painted tulip stands upright between the birds. It is possible that the tulip was intended as a candlestick, because the quill holders are in the base near the birds' tails. Origin: England, ca. 1870. Size: 2-3/4" diameter; 3" tall. Condition: excellent, no damage or repairs.

This is Japanese antique Hikeshi Hanten (fireman coat)used in the Edo period.( 1830-1850) of natural indigo dye cotton. It is a very nice cotton hand spun with warm hands. It is drawn with Tsutsugaki and with natural indigo dye. There are slight stains, but they are not noticeable. There is a slight rubbing mark. The state can be worn well.
