An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made entirely of Suginoki (Cryptomeria) wood. Original wiped Urushi lacquer technique finish with original hand made iron hardware including Gumbai handles...

A creamware plate with a pierced border of alternating piercing patterns and gilt sections. A gilt bird stands in the well of the plate. The decoration is out of character for English style of the period so I would guess that the plate is Continental and from around 1800. It is 7 ½ inches (19 cm) diameter. No marks on the back.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some scratches and wear to the gilding.

This is a large attractive cloisonne vase that we have had on display for many years. It is not signed and we're not sure of the Artist. It stands 24 inches tall and is in excellent condition. The smaller stand is included. The tall hardwood stand it is displayed on, stands 40 inches tall and is available.
