Japanese Kura samurai saddle in red lacquer, with black and gilt lacquer. The maewa (front arched plate) and shizuwa (rear arched plate) are adorned with a copper inlay flying crane. The red lacquer area surrounding the crane is hand-carved with scrolling vines of flowers and shippo pattern in gilt lacquer.
The maewa and shizuwa are connected by two igi (contoured side bands)...

Large Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain bowl decorated on the exterior wall with stylized forms thinly washed in deep blue-gray over a celadon-gray crackled ground. The interior is unglazed at the center where another bowl was stacked in the kiln. This bowl was probably produced by a Fujian kiln for export to Southeast Asia. 9 3/8” diameter x 3 3/8” high. 19th century. Very good overall condition with some stable old cracks that appear to be original production flaws...
Pair of small vases in cloisonné enamel on gilded copper. A beautiful identical landscape is represented on each vase, fish, rivers, birds and flowers on a background of a luminous blue sky. The wires are in silver, the base is in gilded copper. The gilding is now almost completely missing, except on the base. They are both in perfect condition, which for a pair is rare. Height 125mm. Japanese work from the end of the 19th century.
