A lovely wood carving of a pair from Bali. Meticulously carved and painted, the man with keris and the woman holding an offering, standing on a base. Condition: the base with some cracks and a small loss, the hilt of the keris glued, paint with few losses and wear. Dimension: c. 27 cm high.

The vase is cast in one piece. Inspired by archaic Chinese bronze ritual vessels, it bears a Taotie mask decoration. This decoration is reduced to two narrow bands instead of occupying more space as usually on the bronzes of the Ming period, this more austere character, the slender shape and the patina with a much more antique aspect allows us to think so. older, probably from the Song period or earlier. The base split on one side as shown in the photos...

Indian demon chaser mask in bronze repousse from Karnataka in five parts: head, headband, ears and a tube within the head to permit the mounting on a pole. Backside with red paint. The rim of the platter is done in a rococo style and has reticulated decoration. The platter is hand painted with elaborate floral decorations. It has a large central bouquet, floral swags and garlands done with vibrant colors. There are many gilded accents within the decoration. The rim is trimmed with gold...

A very rare, finely modelled, bronze figure of the Ancient Egyptian cat goddess, Bast, with later, crudely carved, early 20th Century soft wood stand. This item was made in Egypt during the Late Dynastic Period (664-332 BC). Condition: Very good - there is oxidation loss to the left side between the fore and hind leg; no further losses and no repairs. Height (without stand): 6.6cm (2.6 inches). Height (with stand): 10.8cm (4.25 inches).

This is a large doll, probably dated from Meiji to Taisho period, modeling a maiden from the Genroku era (1688-1703)...
