A German 1820's cabinet cup and saucer with burnished and matte gilt decoration of Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s new theater building in Berlin, inaugurated in 1821 and nowadays concert hall. Inscribed “Das neue Schauspielhaus in Berlin”. Height "4½/ 11 cm. Condition: rubbing to the gilt on the saucer and inside the cup (cf. pics.).

A 13 5/8 inch (34.5 cm) diameter blue and white delft charger with Chinese style decoration in the center depicting a rock with flowers on a ground with other plants. Crossing lines with dots between, surround the well and also on the outer edge of the lip. Dutch 18th century.

Condition: a fair bit of wear to the glaze, a chip on the rim with glaze losses and other smaller losses around the rim.

Three dishes or small plates in orange, black and gold, depicting the Austrian coat of arms as it is seen on the Maria Theresienthaler coins. Made as replacements for broken parts of the service originally ordered from China for Jozef Anthon Johan of Austria and dated 1820, just after the Arch Duke had entered his third marriage. These dishes however are later. They were probably made in Europe around 1900. Diameter "6 3/4/17,5 cm...

An English creamware plate with a molded edge that was exported Holland and decorated there with over glaze enamels. The plate almost certainly depicts the son of William V, Prince of Orange. The sone would become William I of the Netherlands. Born in 1772, he would be the, “Jong Prins” as inscribed in black on the plate. Interestingly the face has been left unfinished. The boy faces an orange tree with fruit on it and a couple of them on the ground...

A complexly decorated Chinese export plate in underglaze blue with overglaze red, orange and gilding depicting scrolling plants, two panels with a house under a flowering tree and an octagonal symbol in the center. Brown painted rim. There are trailing blue and red plants on the back and the foot is unglazed. Probably more toward the first quarter of the 18th century than the second quarter. 8 5/8 inches (22 cm) diameter.

Condition: No cracks, hairlines or repairs...

SOLD An underglaze blue transfer printed porcelain mug in the “Fisherman” pattern with a loop handle circa 1790. Marked on the bottom with a transfer printed “S.” 3 ¼ inches tall, 3 ¾ inches across the handle.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Good clear printing of the pattern in an even blue.

Nice example of a popular pattern that Caughley used on numerous different pieces of porcelain.

Large lustre-glazed faience or majolica dish by Alfredo Santarelli in Gualdo Tadino, Deruta, Italy. Santarelli (1874-1957) took his inspiration from near-by Urbino, the birth-place of the most exquisite 16th century Renaissance maiolica. Mixing this with Hispano-Moresque lustre glaze effects he created his highly decorative Neo-Renaissance / Istoriato pieces. Early monogrammed AS signature, c 1910. Diameter "12 ¼ / 31.5 cm, height "1 3/4 / 4.5 cm. Condition: fine

Large and well decorated porcelain pitcher with a group of flowers on one side and on the opposite side inside a gilt cartouche “L. Cummings.” in Gothic letters. The country of origin may be either France, in which case it was probably brought here blank and then decorated here or possibly it was made by an American manufacturer. The hard paste porcelain is unlikely to have been made in England, though they did on occasion import French blanks. Anyway, nice decoration from about 1870...

Small footed cup with modelled handle and decoration of flower sprigs. For the iced sorbet between servings, 1770's. Unmarked, but probably by the Rue Thiroux/Porcelaine à la Reine factory. Height: 2 ½”/6,5 cm. Condition: fine.

A shaped rectangular dark blue ground dish with extensive gilding. Birds on the four edges and moths in the corners are painted in conjunction with the gilding. Though unmarked it is typical of Mason’s of the period around 1825. 9 ½ inches (24 cm) length, 8 inches (20 cm), 13/4 inches (4.5 cm) tall.

A French footed cabinet cup and saucer with painted decoration, the cup with a fox, the saucer with a rocky landscape. Marks for Flamen-Fleury, Paris, 1820-35. Height 4”/10 cm, diam. of saucer 5 ¼”/13,5 cm. Condition: Fine, except for some rubbing to gilding, esp. inside the cup.

Blue and white sparrow beak milk or cream jug and lid transfer printed in two rows with a Chinoiserie pattern. Unmarked, English, c 1790. Height including lid "6 ¼ / 16 cm. Condition: the jug with two hairlines, the lid with star crack and rim frits (cf. pics).

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer, or KPM, in the late 19th century. The saucer is 5 1/4 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 inches high. The set has this interesting shape that was used at the Meissen factory. There is a cute handle with curlecues that is so fragile. The set is decorated with tiny flower buds in monochrome orange. There is lacy gilding on the inside rim of the cup...

This fine Staffordshire copper luster pitcher is decorated with a blue band of enamel, creating a very clean, simple design, accented with beading around the border and rim of the pitcher. The fancy serpentine and strap handles give it grace. The warmth of the copper makes it an attractive accessory to a bookshelf or cabinet.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby before 1906. There are date ciphers for 1904 on the saucer and 1906 on the cup. It would be within the Edwardian period. The saucer has a diameter of 4 7/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The set is made of fine, translucent bone china. There are gilded laurel leaves accented with white raised enamel beads on cobalt blue bands around the rims of each piece...

This is a stoneware crock, 11 1/2" high and approximately 10 1/2" diameter, natural non-gray color, the "2" cut into the wet clay before it was fired. There are several edge chips, but there is some white paint on one side of the rim that is NOT chips, and it comes off with the fingernail. Note the glaze. Majolica Faience large Plate, raised Berry and Rose on top of Basket weave design, 10 3/8" diameter, 1 3/8" high, brown spotted design on the creamy color back, some missed glaze spots under the bottom rim.

A pair of hand-painted French porcelain ink-pots or candlesticks, made around 1920. The larger one is 4 1/4 inches (11 cm) by 4 1/4 inches and 2 1/2 inches (6,5 cm) tall. The smaller one is 3 3/4 inches (9,5 cm) by 3 3/4 inches. They are in good condition (age-appropriate fading to paint). They are signed, 'Le Tallec Paris' and 'Made in France'.
