This particular piece is a very unique, stone prayer tablet. It is difficult to date but stylistically could be as early as the Five Dynasties period (907-960 AD). These tablets were often found in conjunction with the ceramic offering vessels from Yunnan. The tablets would accompany the offering vessels and would sometimes comprise an enclosure for the offering vessels. (See trocadero item number 797164 for an example of the offering vessel)...

Turn-of-the-century Belle Epoque 950 silver and mother of pearl fruit set. Made by Gustave Veyrat in France. This set comprises 24 pieces with 12 forks and 12 knives. Each: Mother of pearl handle with ornamented mounts and lobed oval terminal with bead. Silver is gilt and mother of pearl is tinted brown. In leather-bound case with silk lining and fitted velvet.

A 19th Century Ningxia Lion Dog Seating Mat, China Dimensions: 65 x 70 cm (2ft. 2in. X 2ft. 4in.).

A large double Irish chain pieced quilt with the chain consisting of red squares enclosing yellow ones on a white ground. The back is turned over the top to form the edge. The red border quilted with swags encloses a white border with a running feather wreath. Inside are red saw teeth and then the chains across the field. Cotton seeds visible through the back side. The white squares enclosed by the chain are quilted with a number of different circular motifs...

An oval and domed porcelain plaque with enamelled flowers in a gilt and Bleu Céleste framework. The ”heavenly blue” colour was a speciality for Sevres in the 18th century and revived in the 19th during the reign of Napoléon III. The gilt flower wreath is tooled, to show the texture of the little flower petals, and the large flower motif is excellently painted. The plaque was made in the late 19th century and probably intended for an ormolu wall sconce...

This set of 8 porcelain plates was produced in England by Minton in 1863. The name Minton is impressed with date ciphers indicating this year. The plates measure 9 ½ inches in diameter. They are made of fine, white bone china. The reticulated borders around the plates are 1 ¾ wide. They are outlined in heavy celeste blue enamel known as French enamel. There are 3 cartouches in the borders containing colorful sprays of hand painted flowers...

Mid 19th C Staffordshire figurine of a tailor riding a goat with 2 kids in a basket. Inspired by Meissen' s Tailor of Count Bruhl figurine, the goat is carrying an iron in her mouth while the tailor is holding a small roll of material in his hand. We believe that is is a Royal Rudolstadt Urn, despite the lack of a mark. It is decorated with florals, with a gilt handle and sits on a pedestal base. It is 13" high and it is in excellent condition. Late 19th century.

The interior with the usual Canton scene including bridge, pagodas, sailboats and islands in the distance. An interesting 18th century pewter plate, the border with an engraved motto, Suum cuique, written on a ribbon above an open book resting on a diagonally striped bar. As presented on this plate this is the crest and motto for the Scottish Clan Don. It is a Latin phrase meaning “to everybody his/her own”, historically used in freemasonry and in legal contexts, like serving as motto for the faculty of law at universities.
